XBOX (1) Emulator help...

Post by Darkchao »

So I just bough a classic XBOX (1) with a tons of games which most of them are games i never will play trough, because I hate sport games.
Anyway,I just downloaded Surreal64 CE and added some roms in the ROMS folder. Now my question is HOW THE HELL DO I ADD IT TO MY BOX?
My XBOX has a Xecuter2 chip build in,so I can play games on DVD.I tried to make a ISO out of the surreal folder and burned it on a normal CD.
My XBOX wont read it trough.
Now my question is,do I need to burn it on a DVD-Rs?
Or do i need to do something else?

Lots of videos on you
tube to help you How to FTP Games & Emulators @into your Xbox: http://youtu.be/qY31-HFE_3g
Are you using Xbmc? If so you can go in to file manager and search around for unleashx.xbe and in there you should find a program called dvd2xbox which does what it says :-) also you could use a usb stick 4gb max but you will need a cable for that or make one from an old controller lead.
Also I'm pretty sure you can use file manager in Xbmc to transfer from DVD or usb.
Feel free to jump in here anyone as this is all from memory
Good Luck

First I'll assume you want to use DVD-R as the ideal solution for you...
Search and download a program called "Quix" -- it is specifically built to work with "XISOs" -- Xbox ISOs.

You need to make sure you are creating your "XISO" .iso file using the Quix tool. Search google for XISO creation tutorial using Quix -- I remember one being at xbox-scene.

Once your XISO for your emulator is built, use "ImgBurn" (search, freeware) to burn the DVD-R at "4x" speed. The slower speed burn the better so the older drives will read it.

---
All that said, I'd recommend FTPing emulators to the hard drive rather than running from disk. :P

Whats the FTP tool called? And,if i do that, how can i boot the emulator with Xecuter2?
Also, could you give me a link to that Quix tool? Google doesnt find any dowload ...

EDIT:
Burned the Emulator and the Roms on a DVD-R with Quix and ImgBurn at "4x" Speed like you said.
It finaly boots :D
Tested Super Mario 64 and it runs well (a little bit slow but that might be the cd)
It would be nice if someone could explain the FTP stuff (i cant watch videos due my crappy internet) so i can add the emulator/roms on the Xbox and not
need to waste 100 of CD's just for adding a new ROM to it.

Glad it helped. There's a guide in the forums here (guide/tutorial section). It might be buried.

FileZilla is the reigning FTP client of choice. Cross platform, too.

I'm using my phone to type this sorry I can't find the links for you buddy

For ftp ( file transfer) from your pc to your Xbox you need your Xbox iP address, it will be something like 192.168.4.90 and will be displayed once you connect your Xbox to the internet.
On the ftp client you have downloaded to your computer click connect and put in the iP address, when you get it right your Xbox hard drive contents will appear on the ftp client on the pc and then you can just transfer stuff across pc to Xbox. The last client I used was ftp cutie.
Fileziller is supposed to be good also but I haven't used this one
https://filezilla-project.org
There are lots of ftp clients
