Unleshx hanging

In the middle of a 1.5TB hdd upgrade and using either AID or Hexen i get the normal new hdd detected do i want to format it , i select yes and then all goes well untill it gets to X drive where it just hangs ?
I cant seem to get past this point, i will leave it for 30mins and see if it eventually finishes but doesnt look promising.

I only use Slayers 2.7 myself. It will do the job perfectly for you. If you have dramas using UnLeashX and aren't familiar with Slayer's but want to go that way, let me know. There are a couple of steps involved. Really have no idea with UnLeashX myself.

I'm not if its unleashx itself but possibly xbpartitioner that runs inside unleashx, i slotted in another hdd and its up and running so it may be a hdd problem.

I'm not 100% curtain you can use UnLeached for large HDDs. I may be wrong but I seem to remember HeimDall saying something along those lines.

Correct. Use xbpartition 1.3 for very large drives.

I dont think you understand what i'm saying, i'm not trying to format the hdd with unleashx.
With either AID or Hexen when you cold boot with a new hdd installed unleashx is loaded automatically to do the initial formatting before dash files can be loaded.
Once that is done i install the dash and then ftp xbpartitioner 1.3 to format the extended partitions.

In any case, once you get to XBP1.3 just finish formatting. You shouldn't need the X partition you talk about to work correctly, considering you can fix it with XBP.

Yer I just install the Slayer's disc after putting in the virgin sata HDD and do a New Build using Large HDD. Before anything else I test the new HDD. After Slayers, the machine is while not clustered correctly yet, it is OK for testing purposes just to make sure the build was successful. Next the booting app needs to be put on E drive in the apps folder along with any other apps you may want on the machine and the shortcut altered to find that booting app. Now I'll say it once again, your booting app can not be on your F or G drive. After you use XbPartitioner on these drives which you will need to, there will be absolutely nothing left on them. If you haven't altered your short cut to your booting app and it is still going looking in F or G drive, your machine will not get past the splash screen.
If you have already got past this point, not real sure, you would be using XbPartitioner to alter your cluster sizes on your F and G drives.

Nothing altered, a fresh hdd installed to a tsop flashed console. At this stage no software has been loaded so its purely running of the disc.

Not sure what caused the hang but i resolved it by formatting the hdd in pc then re installed to console and went thru set up again.

Expect slow boot times till the HDD is near half full. Not unusual to have boot times of up to 40 seconds till the HDD has a fair bit of content at which time the boots should drop to 10-12 seconds.A couple of questions for other users and my curiosity.

1- What type of sata to IDE adapter did you use?.

2- What type of HDD did you use?.

3- 40 or 80 wire cable?.

4- Setting on HDD- Cable select, Master or Slave?.

5- How long does it take to cold boot the machine?.

6- Is it booting reliably?

7- Have you noticed F drive not loading all the time you boot the machine?.

8- What bios did you use?.

I hope you find the time to answer these questions so I can build up a data base of users successful machine builds using sata HDDs for others to use as a reference.
