Emulator Shortcuts

Post by stevieb »

I'm trying to create emulator shortcuts where one can browse the icons to select the system emulator to start the program. I'm using 3.5 rc2. I'm willing to downgrade to 3.3.3 if it's easier or if I can just get something to work. At the very least, I'd like to get the emulators to show up under the Emulators menu, i.e. Home Page-Programs-Emulators. Can't even figure how to get that one to work. I know how to create cut files and have done one for the NES. I can click on the cut file and it opens the emulator. I just can't figure how to get the shortcut to work from somewhere on the home page. Right now, for cut files or emulators, I have to use file manager to find files. I found a how to of the manual, but I get lost in how to add the source to link the shortcut to have it play from icon.
PLEASE HELP! I have spent TONS of time researching and searching and tinkering trying to get this to work and can't find anything.

This one is relatively easy. Make sure all your emulators are in a folder (ex: E:\emulators\), and each emulator is in their own subfolder of that. (ex: E:\emulators\NES\, E:\emulators\N64\, etc). Then in your XBMC home screen, (I will assume you are using Confluence Lite) select Programs and press A. There will be a choice called Add Source there. Find the main folder of your emulators (not the sub folders, remember our example E:\emulators\) and then name the source Emulators. This will populate the icons in the Programs->Emulators section of XBMC.
