Re: 720p settings not remembered on shutdown and start
My problem is I can hardly play any hd when I check video output option 480 720 and 1080 are grey'd out. I have 64mb xbox v1.6. It is soft modded with xbox hdm I do have hdd pass key and EEPROM file. Should I try the EEPROM.off or should I just use that Hexen disk? I have a old 4:3 tv not hd. If I need to resoft mod it just let me know the best soft mod to use and how to fix the video output so I can change it..... Thanks for all the help and everything you guys do for us....i do also have ALOT of memory freezes

Re: 720p settings not remembered on shutdown and start
you may need to start a new thread for your issue... if you're not using hd tv; you should not have 720p or 1080i enabled; i could be wrong but xbmc may be setting itself to 1080i or even 720p which take a lot of resources. You may also be trying to play a video which has too high of a bitrate, especially if the video is h264 and the resolution is 720 or higher.
please post a debug log so that someone can take a look at it and assist further...

Re: 720p settings not remembered on shutdown and start
I would just rather do a fresh soft mod if guided correctly although I do plan on getting a hd TV soon I still have grey'd out area on video output. I have never used the debug log not sure how to. I don't even know what to call my problem but when searching this was the closest I could find....

Re: 720p settings not remembered on shutdown and start
Tyvm I will start here......not trying to double post but I now have a fresh softmod from hexen. I still cant change video output settings. I am beginning to think its because I dont have the component cable I have the composite. even though I dont have a hd tv yet, would the component cable still work on reg box tv? Please fully explain so I can see if something is still wrong or if I just need to get a component cable and a hd tv...ty for your time and effort in helping me. It really does mean alot to my wife seeing how we dont have cable or satellite...

You can't enable HD until you have a component cable connected to your Xbox. If your TV only has composite inputs then you wouldn't see any benefit from HD modes anyway.

Ty so much for that understanding. I'm also having problems with vevo, Al Jazeera, streamallthis, and free cable. Will make a new thread for them with debug in a little while. Could this be do to that cable or should them work either way?

Re: 720p settings not remembered on shutdown and start
Hi,
I am trying to follow the xbmc4xbox tutorial on how to enable hd on a soft modded xbox. I am stuck on the part where you need to update the virtual EEPROM from the Krayzie "launch extras" screen. I can't open that folder because it's locked by a button passcode that I never set.
Does anyone know what that passcode defaults to?
Nevermind, I got it working without updating the EEPROM.
