WTB or WTT 1.5 motherboard and mod chips

Post by davidthomas »

I am looking for a 1.5 motherboard. I have been searching for many years for one and never any luck. I have opened hundreds of consoles and the are just hard to find. I am willing to buy it or trade something for it. I am sure that I will have something that you want. It is not that they are better in someway I just want to have one for my collection. If it has the 128 RAM upgrade that is fine also. Please PM me.

If you do not know how to test your 1.4 to see if in fact it is really a 1.5 it is really simple. With a multimeter check pin 2 on the LPC to see if it is connected to ground. If it is connected to ground then it is a 1.4, if it is not connected to ground then it is a 1.5. You can also test to see if the LPC has the 5 volts connected to it but the ground is much more simple. The board would have to be powered on to test the 5 volts and the ground can be checked while the board is not powered on.

I am also looking for mod chips that I do not have in my collection already. Please PM me with any mod chips that you have and I will let you know if it is something that I am looking for. But I am mainly looking for older chips and odd ball chips. I also am looking for old programmers like the aladdin programmer. I only have the matrix programmer and the X2.6 programmer. So all others are wanted.

A few chips that I am looking for are the smartxx version 3, X-chip, X-chip lite, muppet-X, chameleon, Apple-X, X-elixis, X-tasis, PC-bioxx, NitroXX, OpenXbox, spider chip, Akira, Xecuter 2.1 lite, Xecuter 2.2 lite, xecuter 1 and any of the real 29 wire mod chips. There is many other ones that I do not have that are not in that list but cant remember them off the top of my head. I have most of all the newer chips but it is better to ask me then assume.

I am also looking for certain chips that I already have but like to use on consoles that I still build like the any of the Xeniums, any of the Smartxx's, X3, Aladdin 4064 with LCD support, X-Chip and other 4th Generation chips. If it has LCD support then chances are I will want it. I am also looking for any of the X3CP faceplates. They are the X3 faceplate with the LCD installed in any colors that you have. I am also looking for Xbcases and other custom cases like that.

If you have a chip that I am looking for but it is currently installed in your console and need another chip to replace it. That can be worked out. I have quite a few extra chips that I am willing to let go of for a chip that I do not have yet.

I almost forgot! NO CLONES! I had a clone of a xenium and they are just junk chips! If you update xenium clone to any of the newer OS it will kill your chip. I only want original chips and the more complete the better. I also could use wire harnesses for chips also even if you do not have the chip anymore. I have a few chips that are missing the harness because they were installed on a pin header and the wire harness was discarded.

I too have never seen one. I don't believe they were ever sent to Australia and rumor has it a lot of 1.5s were scraped and production continued on 1.4s instead until the 1.6 was put into production but they are only rumors and I have heard others in other countries claim to have 1.5s that they had to mod to install a modchip.

Well I know 2 people that have confirmed that they do exist. Trusty told me that 4-5 years ago he had one and he sold it with the 128 RAM. He told me that XBMC recognized it as a 1.5. Also N64freak had one that he confirmed with a multimeter but the board was used as a RAM donor. The clock cap had leaked so bad that the board was not useable. That was a terrible ending for such a rare board!

I wonder what was so wrong with them to go back to the 1.4's? I wonder if it is a security flaw on a programming flaw. Maybe they had a different kernel also and that was the reason? I wonder if anyone has done any research on this?
