Hi!
With new hardware supporting XBMC appearing rapidly, I was wondering if there are boxes for sale that support XBMC, and SCART(RGB) or Composite video.
Most new video players only support HDMI, but my old TV does not support that.
I know the best solution for now is an XBOX1, but an XBOX is relatively big, and maybe not available second hand much longer.
Replacement for XBOX for use with Scart/Composite and XBMC

Re: Replacement for XBOX for use with Scart/Composite and XB
I think Microsoft shipped 24+ million of them... they'll be around for a while... SD wise nothing touches it
You could hide it behind your TV and just run a USB extension for the remote sensor, or you could use a small form PC such as a Zotac, but then you will need converters to change the video and audio to SCART, which ends up looking a bigger mess than the Xbox... what about a 'slim-box' ?

I'm happy with Xbox1 for now, but I was just wondering if something else is available.Geeba wrote:I think Microsoft shipped 24+ million of them... they'll be around for a while... SD wise nothing touches it

As long as they are available second hand there is no problem. I even bought 2 original DVD kits for $2,50 a piece.

The raspberry pi also has composite output but not used it myself so can't tell you what its like. Works great via HDMI so I presume it will also work well on composite.

Raspberry Pi? That has HDMI and composite out, and it's not exactly huge.
As said, though, the xbox'll be around for a good while yet and for sd content it's still the best.
Edit: too slow!

Actually, RF is the lowest of the low, haha.

You meant rgb-scart, right?Geeba wrote:...makes SCART look like HD!
