Me too, i'd go as far as saying all my consoles (25 + ) have that ide cable holder on the hdd tray.
Apart from yellow i have a couple of brown dvd power cables but not grey.

Magnify the picture, the user does not refer tot the ide holder, but the molex cable holder.

First console i lifted the lid on has this power cable holder also.
I've looked inside many different xbox versions and I've never seen a molex cable clip or anything other than yellow DVD drive cables. I expect all of mine were originally purchased in the UK, although I don't know if that means anything.
Quite fascinating
I have all 3 of the DVD power cables here. The yellow, brown and the white with the red wire. The white with red wire comes out of the 1.6 consoles.
But I do have a power/eject PCB with a brown set of wires. That is the only one that was not yellow that I have seen.
I also have opened a sealed xbox that had a 1.0 motherboard with the USB daughter board. But the strange part was the passive heatsink on the GPU. It also did not have the power connector for the 1.0 GPU fan.
I also have 2 of the samsung 1.2-1.5 power supplies. They are the only 2 I have ever seen. I also own 6 of the hitachi GDR-8050L DVD drives which only came out of really late 1.6 consoles. They are considered the best drive made for the xbox and are rare to get. These are the only 6 I have come across and are in my personal consoles.
I have opened more then 200 consoles and have yet to find a version 1.5, but I do know that trusty confirmed that he had one and XBMC read it as a 1.5 also. In case you were wondering that. Also N64 freak has come across a 1.5 but it was damaged by the clock cap and became a donor RAM board. It was confirmed by a multimeter on pin 2.It was not connected to ground.
I also have not seen the sharp TSOP either. They must be really rare.
I also have a phillips DVD drive that does not have the hump on the bottom. That is the only one I have seen. I try to keep these strange parts for my personal stuff.
I also have a few of the hard drive caddys that have the extra clip. They are from early xbox versions and are not that common. I have seen more than 20 of them over time.
