Re: Anyone actually using Win8?
A few months ago my son spilled my beer on my old toshiba satellite so obviously when I started pushing the space key and it was typing 5's it was time to upgrade
I got one of these with windows 8 on it (had to upgrade to 8.1 myself but at no charge). I don't really care what OS I'm running honestly, but at first I really didn't care too much for this one. I will say that it's grown on me, and in large part because of the touchscreen...I think that in order to truly have it running the way that it's designed (to make the most sense), a touchscreen is probably a necessity.

Very nice - if you haven't already, you should also install Windows 8.1 Update (sort of SP1).

Re: Anyone actually using Win8?
We/ I just upgraded some stuff at work we just replaced our fleet of computers to 21" al in one dell pc's running windows 8.1 and replaced the server that was running 2k3 to the new cloud based server 2012 with office 360.
This was done because of windows xp being dropped from the mix via microsoft, and because we had an issue a few years back where some one hacked our server and bounced spam off of it and he was worried and did not want this to happen again.
Everyone asks how to remove the startup quick menu thing but i just show them how to pin there stuff in there and they are set, most of the people at work just use the accounting package and I guess as long as that is there the underlying os really makes no difference to them.
It is all working fine no real issuies and no complaints everyone is just i guess happy to replace the slow pentium 4 computers running xp and nt 2000 with cor i5's, no more pulling profile of a domain controller on old dunga pc's for us
some of them are in well need to be replaced.
