Thanks for this, I'm already to the second season. From that first episode, It's clear this was inspired by the trailer park boys.

I would recommend shameless US, supernatural for series.
For movies, shawshank redemption is one of my favorites. I recommend to see a portuguese movie, "balas e bolinhos" and "balas e bolinhos 2". There is a third one, but i dont like it.

Being human is a great wee tv show. the first was the uk version and then the us version has just finished. The walking dead and falling skies are another couple of tv shows well worth a watch.

I have a few series that are well worth watching:

"Step dave" Is about a young dude that hooks up with a single mother and everyone tries to break the up, or hook them up with suitably aged partners.

"I.T Croud" Is about two hard core computer I.T. technitions in the basment of an office building and their crazy antics and interactions with the public and other office staff.

"The big bang" Which I possibly dont need to explain to any one.

"Two broke girls" Which I possibly dont need to explain to any one.

"Bro town" It is an animated series about a group of fresh polinesian kids a half drunk fork lift driving dad.
I use a catch phrase comes from this show when I go somewhere:
"Im going to the pub to sell some appliances"
