Re: XBMC won't start up
okay heres what you do.
download the xbmc4xbox in a zip.
send it to your xbox with out extracting the xbmc4xbox
now in your dashboard, go to file manager and click on xbmc4xbox.zip and extract it E:/Apps/Xbmc4xbox/
make sure the files are inside the xbmc4xbox when you frist open the folder
not xbmc4xbox/xbmc4xbox/then files it wont run that way.
you should be able to run your xbmc4xbox.
good luck

Re: XBMC won't start up
Answer a few questions for us if you would. It would make things a bit easier to help you.
What version of XBMC are you trying to install? Where did you get this copy? (Provide a link on that) What is your current modded dashboard? (Evox, UnleashX, etc...) Finally, where on your Xbox's HDD did you FTP those files?
Let's start there.

I tried installing using 3.3.3 and 3.5 beta 2, both had same results.mrmajikbus45 wrote:Answer a few questions for us if you would. It would make things a bit easier to help you.

They were downloaded from drop box on this site's forums http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... ?f=9&t=781
We have a few dashboards but i believe the main one we are using is evox, have tried it with a few others none seem to work
The files were FTP, into the F:/apps folder and then run default.xbe for XBMC using a file mangerr, i also tried installing into a another folder and running straightt from dashboard but that has same result.
Everytime i try to run XBMC it takes me back to the dashboard

Re: XBMC won't start up
I don't fully understand what you wish to do, but if you wish to change your default dashboard then follow whats below...
Ok, xbmc is not your default dashboard, evolution x is. If you want xbmc to be your main dashboard so it loads up right away, you should use a shortcut tool. Check this out...
http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/wiki/Instal ... _Dashboard
But remember read through it fully and carefully, if you mess up you could brick your xbox. So make sure you can redo the softmod if you have one. I'm not too sure how to unbrick it if you have a hardmod.
I suggest option 3 or option 1 on the wiki article.
If you need any assistance just ask any of us

Re: XBMC won't start up
Okay, so the directory structure looks like this: F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe correct?
The versions of XBMC you pointed to that you downloaded are good working copies.
Final question I may have, is did you FTP the entire XBMC folder? Again, so that your F: looks like F:\Apps\XBMC\
If not, therein may lie your issue. Take a screenshot of your file manager in F:, F:\Apps, and F:\Apps\XBMC\
Take them with your phone. We will be able to assist more by seeing it.

Re: XBMC won't start up
I dont not wish for XBMC to become the default, i just want to run it and yes i did FTP the entire folder so it looks like F:\Apps\XBMC\
The problem is when trying to run the default.xbe, XMBC does not launch instead it just takes me back to the dashboard.
A older version of XBMC worked perfectly fine

Re: XBMC won't start up
I am not trying to make it the default. I was merely trying to get an idea as to what your XBMC directory structure is. There may have been something that didn't extract properly.

Re: XBMC won't start up
Interesting. Sorry I didn't post last night, got busy. Download them off of the Google Drive link section, as I was having trouble getting the ones in dropbox to run. I will alert Baked Pi. Try to download from Google Drive, unzip the folder, FTP the XBMC folder into F:\Apps. Worked for me.

Re: XBMC won't start up
Try my XBMC4Kids mod & see if that works, it removes most of XBMC bar what's needed to run. Just place it anywhere on the xbox.
If that doesn't work, how many folders do you have in E:\UDATA?
