Question about an already modded xbox

Post by febo00 »

I have an NTSC modded xbox, but I don't know if it has been softmodded or hardmodded. Is there a way to know it without opening it? The seals under the console have been teared to access the screws, and for it to be able to load a backup, I have to keep the power button pressed a couple of seconds longer. A purple logo on the top left of the screen that says Evo X appears. Dashboard seems to be the original.

I also have a 120GB IDE drive around that I wanted to install to play games directly, and possibly use XBMC. Could yo steer me in the right direction?

Thanks

My guess is it's a hard mod, it wouldn't have a purple logo if it was a soft mod. Shine a light on the sides of Xbox (if you can see through it) and try to find a chip or something, if you can't find a chip then it's mostlikley Tsop flash.

You can use your XBOX + 120G IDE HDD for both games and XBMC,if it's hard modded, you can just put your 120G HDD in and then run Slayer installation disk from DVD drive ,choose ".... upgrade hdd installation "......
