Re: Chimp directory help
Thanks for responding its so discouraging that everybody else can use Chimp and for me it doesn't work. For XBMC it is set to wide screen and nothing else is checked like 480i or 720 and 1070i it's all greyed out I have hooked up the Xbox component using the original Xbox component device. For the hard drive I bought it on EBay, do I need to do something to the hard drive before I try Chimp?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Chimp directory help
Make sure that the jumper is set to the slave position. That's it. Badda bing. Hotswap the DVD-drive and new HDD after you have started XBMC, but before you start chimp.

Re: Chimp directory help
Jerry, I have one more idea that may work for you. Get yourself a DVD-R. If you have a DVD burner on your PC or know someone who does, great. Download imgburn or Alcohol 120%. Download a copy of Slayer's 2.98. Burn the Slayer's iso file to your DVD-R using imgburn. Burn at the slowest speed possible. Pop into your xbox DVD drive and turn on. Follow instructions onscreen where it says HDD upgrade.

Re: Chimp directory help
Ok so I got Slayers Evox AutoInstaller on my screen from the DVD disk of course I would need to see "A HOW TO" I do see #7 Clone Softmodded Xbox HDD.
1. do I need to copy this DVD ISO file to the current hard drive
2. or can I do this with the DVD in the DVD drive
3. if I can leave the DVD in the drive then of course do I do #7 first or is there a how to link.
Once again thanks for your time walking me thru this.

Re: Chimp directory help
Actually, from here, make a topic requesting help from Idotsfan. He frequents this board, so you might also send him a PM. I believe that once it loads, you're golden. When it loads, hotswap the new HDD in the place of the DVD drive. Worst thing that will happen is that the program stalls when it attempts to perform the scan of the devices. Remember to follow my advice step by step once it loads. Good luck buddy. We're almost there...

Link reuploaded. Perhaps someone with a file hosting account could give this a permanent home?

Re: Chimp directory help
It's alive!!!!!It's alive!!!! It finally worked......Well sort of, first I was successful on cloning the HDD and this is what I did. I changed the Xbox output wires from component to RCA and then I used slayers App and ran Chimp from Slayers App and was able to see the screen to do the Chimp cloning menu and it worked perfect but.........
Now I see F: unavailable so now I need help so the F: drive sees the new 250gig HDD, I hope Mrmajikbus45 can continue to be very nice and help with, what I hope, the last step.

Re: Chimp directory help
Jerry, load up your Slayer's disc. Go to option 9 (System Settings). Scroll all the way down to Use F Drive. Press A. Select Yes. Go to Save and Exit. Go to option 10. Do a FULL reboot. You're welcome, check your HDD space now.

Re: Chimp directory help
Does F show when you FTP? Sometimes the xbox likes a file in it to detect it.

Re: Chimp directory help
You can use Xbpartitioner, google that.
Place folder into your E:\Apps folder after extracting via FTP. Restart your Xbox, and run it.
Hover over the first item in the second box and press white. Enjoy!
