Favorite Emulators

Post by mrmajikbus45 »

Hey guys, figured I would ask what emulators you guys used and why? I know there are different emulators for many systems, and multiple emulators per system even (ex: Zsnesbox, xSNES9x). I just wanted to get discussion going as to which one is best for most, or why they are enjoyable to use. Trying to build ideas for the folks who may be new to the scene, or may have been apprehensive to try another emulator.

My list:
NES- Mednafen- I like the lockout features so the kids don't bork it. Also, runs stuff silky smooth.
SNES- SNES9xbox- Was familiar with SNES9x from my old PC emulation days back in HS. Runs smooth.
Sega Genesis- NeoGenesis- By far and away the best SGen emulator I have found. Configures easy. Runs smooth.
N64- Surreal 64 CE 5.5- Only one that I find that works for me at all. Either way, still hit or miss.
GBA/GB/GBC- XBoy Advance- Runs awesomely. Great configuration.
PS1- PCSXBox V21 Redux- I can run quite a bit on it. Configures easily. Still not perfect, but best there is.

Note for people new to modding/emulation: I do NOT condone piracy, I do own the carts/discs of the Rom/ISO's that I have. Don't ask for links to the emu's or ROM sets. Just google the stuff from above, or in other people's posts. Find the ROM's on your own. I also don't think this site condones pointing to romlists either. Asking is at your own risk.

Also, if I posted anything wrong, I also mod Wii's, so a mix-up will happen in naming here and there. :)

Yeah it's CoinOPS 5 Sunset and it's the last version BP has made for CO5, next version is going to be CoinOPS 6 :D then for the 250GB I have every single roms pack released for CoinOPS.
