(Solved) Heimdall's Hexen Disc FTP?

Hi there. I wish to set up a rescue disc in case I break my dash as I want to update to the latest XBMC. I can FTP no problem when I am using the XBMC dash but when I pop in Heimdall's Hexen Disc I can not FTP or connect? What am I doing wrong as I put it to static and write all the correct details I use to FTP normally. I thought this would be a good idea incase when I update something goes wrong.

My evoxdash.xbe is in drive C and my XBMC folder is in drive E. I have a Xbox which has ind bios. I plan to rename old XBMC folder to XBMC old and place the new one where is it originally. Is this the correct way?

Finally if I manage to create a backup recovery method and successfully update XBMC, I plan to format Drive F as it has been playing up and files disappearing and weird folders with symbols appearing. So wish to start fresh. By formatting drive F ( I have Drive C E F , F has most space 400gb. E 5GB and C 500mb ) if I just format drive F that wont break my dash or delete drive C and E right? and what is the password for the format option in Heimdall's?

Sorry for all the nooby questions. I look forward to replies hopefully I can update my dash and start anew as recently my hdd has played up just randomly files disspeared and space still used...and lost a lot of files and games :/ so just want to format it and put all my stuff again.

check ip when hemidal loaded

The I.P in the main menu says 0.0.0.0 and when I go network settings

current IP 0.0.0.0

but I change everything to

type static
ip address 192.168.0.2
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway
192.168.0.100
DNS 0.0.0.0
DNS 2 0.0.0.0

these are the normal settings I usw in xbmc to ftp normally and not using a disc.

An IP of 0.0.0.0 means the network cant be detected , AFAIK all the installer discs will show your IP if you are connected to a network.

try setting to dhcp, then use those in ftp program

I updated to the lastest XBMC. I used autoinstaller deluxe the FTP on that worked but not with filezilla but with flashfxp...I am sure flashfxp would of worked with hexen FTP.
