Xbo not starting up?

I upgraded my hd to 160gb got xbmc as the default dashboard and it was working fine for a few days, now when i turned it on today the usual xbox start up happens but then when xbmc would usually load up nothing happens its just black screen, anybody any ideas what could be wrong?

What happens if you start up with a game disc or installer disc in the DVD drive?

the only disc i have is auto installer deluxe as i softmodded with endure not splinter cell disc, but its the same story with AID in the disc drive, just the xbox logo and then black screen, the hd sounds like its searching or something

EDIT: AID seems to start up but dont really know what to do with it, any ideas?

Use AID to re install the softmod.

As Oz says, re-do the softmod. Probably called one click install or similar, from recollection of AID. I use HeXEn these days, much simpler and less prone to my inability to remember all of the steps, since it walks you through the steps.
