Emulators, Public Domain ROMs, and FTP

Post by CaffeineTripp »

Recently, today, did an install onto the XBOX softmodding it via the USB stick and the Splinter Cell exploit.

Did the softmod with ActionReplay, USBView, and SID5. XMBC was installed, Frodo (12.0?). I used FlashXP, as it was recommended by directions. I can transfer emulators over, even some public domain ROMs. I'm placing them in the F: drive under a self-created Emulation folder. When loading an emulator, it will either freeze or find nothing in the drive.

Going back through XMBC and File Explorer the drive shows essentially nothing for size, going from ~70 MB, refreshing to ~12KB (or something along that lines).

Basically, my question is, what am I doing wrong that I can't upload any emulators and ROMs that will work well? Am I able to upload PC emulators and ROMs, do they need to be changed file formats, or is it a must to have .xbe formats?

What emulators are yo using? One's that are for xbox or one's that you use for pc? Because you cant just put a pc emualtor onto the xbox. You should have one that is for xbox and inside the emulators foler, there should a a file called default.xbe , if not then its for pcand you need to download the proper ones. Also what hard drive have you got in your xbox? You should try moving the emulator folder into the E: dictionary

Using only emulators that end in .xbe Unfortunately I cannot move the emulators to E:. I deleted the emulators and ROMs that weren't working off of the drive and am installing the emulators again. I am unzipping them first, and then transferring so they are accessible. ROMs will again be put in the ROM folder for each emulator.

Uninstalled FlashXP and installed Filezilla, doing a hell of a lot better. Thank you, sir.

Got the ROMs working just fine. Used FCEUltra V 1.6, placed unzipped ROMs in /E/Emulators/FCEUltra 1.6/ROMs Excuse the first post there about where the ROMs and emulators were placed; they were originally placed in E, not F.

I now have the problem of no sound, but that's an entirely different problem. A/V cables are hooked up properly to the TV (using the HD RCA hook-ups in the back). Might have to have the softmod changed to HD settings for the standard A/V cables to work?

Try MednafenX NES, which is included in the emulators bundle here - http://rappscallion.wix.com/ressurectio ... ators/cxu4
