From what i understand, the TSOP, when flashed, acts pretty much like a chip, or cheapmod, it is basically a built in modchip, that holds the bios. Though i could be wrong. Are your CD drives SATA? becasuse generally CD drives are still IDE, so if you have 2, take one out, attach the hard drive, and lock it that way, as long as you have a backup of you eeprom

So the 60GB hard drive was locked to the Xbox with a modchip but now it's unlocked and won't work? If the Xbox is indeed chipped, then the hard drive should work perfectly fine unlocked. Are you sure that it's chipped?

Also, your "xbox 2" can't possibly be both softmodded and running with an unlocked hard drive. Softmods require locked hard drives.

The TSOP is basically the onboard bios chip for Xbox versions 1.0 to 1.5, and flashing it with a modded bios would have the same basic effect as installing a modchip. However, if the Xbox is already chipped, then there's no advantage to flashing the TSOP.

there is a program called pony prog and a serial cable you can make with a few zener diodes and some resistors then you san solder 3 wires to the xbox plug it into the pc and read off the eeprom containing the key to lock the hdd again so your soft mod will work.

the cables i have seen on ebay for a few dollars if you want to buy one.

if you are lucky a backup of your eprom may be on your hard disk from when you created your softmod and you maybe able to plug your hdd into your pc and use a program such as xplorer360 to read the hdd and if you are lucky get your hdd key to lock it.

Sorry I'm a bit confused as to what exactly you're trying to do, are you trying to lock or unlock a HDD? If you have the eeprom and xboxhdm you should be fine with that adaptor. What error is it giving you and at what point does it give you the error? It could simply be that you need to disable the auto detect HDD thing in bios.... someone help me out here it's been a long day and I can't think what it's called! Errr... the thing that auto mounts the hdd - anyway whatever it's called you need to disable that in bios!!! Not every bios has that option so on some PCs I've had to use xboxhdm_1.9 and not attach the cable to the HDD until the xboxhdm menu has appeared (and you have to be quick!). Give it a go and see if that helps at all. Sorry I can't be of more use, my brain is properly fried today :?
