I occasionally notice video jitter when watching DVDs on XBMC4XBOX.
Having unsuccessfully searched for test videos, I finally found a clip which shows up video jitter very clearly. It's the scrolling end credits of Band of Brothers. I have uploaded a short clip of this, which was ripped directly from the region 1 DVD, trimmed with videoredo and remuxed into an mkv file (ie this is lossless MPEG2 from the DVD):

I use the official MS HD component pack and usually watch videos in 720p. The only way I could get rid of the jitter in this clip was to switch to NTSC mode in XBMC4XBOX (which is lower quality than 480p/720p).
Incidentally, this file plays jitter-free at 720p on my Raspberry Pi using Openelec.
I'd be really interested if someone else could try out this clip and see if they are experiencing the same problem.
Video jitter
Re: Video jitter
No problems for me on my old-school TV (480p 4:3 ratio). I can try one of my other HDTV's in 720p or 1080i later.
Edit: Sorry, I'm on NTSC - probably not helpful.

Re: Video jitter
Not at all, thanks for testing on NTSC. I've since tried this clip on my windows PC and most players show jitter (including VLC and SMplayer), though I did get MPC-HC to play it smoothly.zimdba wrote:No problems for me on my old-school TV (480p 4:3 ratio). Is anyone else out there interested in checking this out? It's only a 30mb download and it's a really effective test for jitter.
