Video size

Post by Cissoubaka »

Is there a limit for the size of a video file?

I tried to view some 2Go xvid rip but the xbox crashed.
1.4Go seems to be ok but long to start.

Is by smb share working better ?

Since it crashed, you need the .old log file.

I didn't think the log was necessary, i tried to launch the video in the files on video section, not in movies, and it worked.

a debug log is always needed - it says in the readme
It's virtually impossible to help without a debug log.

despite you saying it works from the file section, you should still post a debug log so we can tell you why it didn't work. It also helps us improve the software. thanks.

Like Buzz says, a log file brings a lot of info - like in this case it may confirm it runs out of memory, which is what you found, if you run it from within the library where less memory would be available might crash, but in files mode it will work.

On the other hand, it gives us other information - like what build you run, we could recommend a newer one that might have the problem solved. OR, it might tell us you are using a heavy skin and we could recommend a lighter one. OR we could recommend turning off some services you don't need (the box only has 64 MB of RAM) and it goes on and on.

If you're afraid that we might see computer names or video titles and so on, it's the same line you get from your doctor at a certain type of visit, it's nothing we haven seen before :-)
