I see so many guides on so many sites, I look for more recent dates, I read this thread...

and I thought this site would be a good place to ask because i see lots of recent post about original xbox modding

I read in that thread without having a desktop computer to use then you are stuck with original hard drive

I do have a desktop pc running windows xp and it has IDE connections and would like to use my desktop for a better mod, also I do not mind buying items that i need and waiting for them to come in the mail

I read somewhere that i can use any game that is older than halo 2, so i bought Kingdom Under Fire Heroes, now i can not find the guide that told me to buy a game older than halo 2, and im wondering even if i could find that guide again it may be a old guide because all the other guides are saying i need a certain game like splitter cell or 007

please someone just point me in the right direction
I just want to make sure I do not follow a guide that no ones uses anymore because there is something better, can someone recommend a guide for me to soft mod my original xbox

And I am modding it for games but mostly xbmc, i have xbmc on my tablet and set top box, i have learned to install fusion, tell hub wizard or xbmc maintenance to download all repos so i can pick and choose from lots of add ons, im not a xbmc genius but i know enough about how to use it to know i love it @>-->---

I love it so much i recently bought a original xbox to softmod it with xbmc, i read that xbmc for original xbox is a little different than xbmc for everything else, so i expect i will have more to learn after i softmod my original xbox

I saw it earlier but did not go there, I thought it was only for help with xbmc if I would of checked it for guides for modding the original xbox earlier today, then I would not of made this thread

ok im all set this site is great, most of the other xbox 360 hacking sites newest original xbox threads are so old they got mold growing in them

I got this for a xbox to usb female converter, I hope its the correct item that is needed, I could of got it from ebay sellers in china cheaper but I cant wait that long

Just to clarify, you don't need fusion on xbmc4xbox.

The biggest difference between mainbranch and xbmc4xbox is that we use an older version of python for the codebase so there aren't many addons that work "out of the box" for xbox. You will have to use addons4xbox installer, there is an xbox repository in there you can install from which has popular mainbranch addons that have been modified for xbox use. You can install plenty of other repo's with the installer but you will find a lot of the addons from mainbranch simply don't work.

As for the softmod, I've got a whole list of videos I need to make but my softmod guide is still relevant - you can find it on this forum or my youtube channel (there are 2 parts). The video is now a bit dated and I really do need to do another one but all the information is still correct.

well I got the xbox to female usb cable and 007 agent under fire (not the platinum hit version of the game)

I hooked up the xbox console I got off of ebay a a few months ago and I noticed my xbox plays the other 6 or 7 xbox games I have but it will not recognize the 007 agent under fire game , it is just to scratched , so today I bought another off of ebay but this time the seller says it is in perfect condition with no scratches

If I keep trying maybe I will eventually get a game off of ebay that actually works

I tested the xbox to female usb and its working with a 2gb sd card in a usb sd card reader

it also worked with a really old usb stick , but this stick was only 16mb yea that old, and i thought i read that at least 256mb will be needed so i dug around until i found the 2gb sd card and now im back to waiting on the mail to deliver another copy off 007 agent under fire

at least i know my xbox is working now, on dashboard 5960, and the memory part of the guide i seem to be ready on

if your going to use the newest SID Babylon you might need a big usb stick but even a 8MB memory stick/card will work fine with some earlier versions of SID.

Get yourself a copy of Splinter Cell instead, I've never known anyone have problems with that - except where the disc is completely unreadable. Obviously.

the seller of that game scratched to heck cleans resurfaces lots of games for all systems he gets from dumpsters or somewhere for probably nothing, but I guess he does not test them because he has lots of negative feedback from people saying the game does not work

I knew I probably should not of bought from someone that resurfaces them but his listing says he guarantees that it will not be dead on arrival

Im sure I will have better luck with my new 007 agent under fire seller
