Re: Repair a Modchip

You need to short D0 to GND with these Cheapmods. So basically, if your cheapmod was already installed on a motherboard, it means it's D0 point is already shorted to GND. Putting any modchip without soldering it's D0 point will enable the modchip by default on this specific motherboard. So all you n...

Re: LCD for Xecuter 3

Go ahead and contact them via Alibaba. It's a platform for global merchandise trading. I think you need to pay to post your merchandise there so they'd be dumb to ignore a business occasion if you can write a message that will draw their attention. ;) I do have a spare unit I'd be willing to sell or...

Re: LCD for Xecuter 3

psyko_chewbacca, I had seen your post over on Assembler and was impressed by your modding skills! When I was looking at doing this your thread was the only one I came across where a non-Xecuter lcd was sourced that could fit over ports 3&4. I tried emailing the sales support on a couple of diff...

Re: LCD for Xecuter 3

TC2004B from Vatronix fits above controller ports 3&4. Check my mod log : http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?44219-My-Xbox-modification-project-A-worklog-and-reference-for-future-modders I even explained how I managed to easily solder all the wires to the pads on the X3 modchip ...

Re: What's the least CPU intensive network share type?

So basically, if transfer speed isn't the issue I shouldn't worry about the protocol in use as CPU usage difference is minimal.

I don't think SMB speed is problematic for SD content so thanks, I'll stick with SMB since I don't want to rebuild my library!

What's the least CPU intensive network share type?

Hello, I currently stream my media files over the network to my Xbox using SMB. I know it's not the most lightweight file transfer protocol out there. I would like to know what's the least CPU intensive type of network share that XBMC4Xbox supports? Now that more and more content is encoded in x264,...

Re: XBMC Digital Audio

I find it odd that you get different sound levels when using Coax vs TOSLINK. Logically they are exactly the same signal, bit for bit and at the same transmission rate. It's the same datastream transfering at the same speed, only the medium of transmission is different. Check this site, it's really ...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

Keep it at cable select also. Seeing as though you are using an X3 modchip, why not give the bios I use a go. Not the one I posted but an M8 bios and then see if that improves your boot times. May as well use the X3 modchip for the only real thing I could see good with them other than being able to...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

After reviewing what was transfered, I don't have that much data on the Drive. C: is almost full as I put some emulators on it. There's about 2GB left E: because of XBMC and a huge Library Database, emulators and various apps. F: contains about 120GB of emulator's sutff (lots of small files... that'...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

Sorry for the delay, I just wanted to finish modding my Xbox and get this thing over with. It's working great. Boot is a little long (about 15-20 seconds) but R/W speed seems good. I transfered alot of stuff from various sources over FTP for a period of over 24 hours without shutting down the Xbox. ...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread

I don't get it. I tried a DealExtreme Red Sata-IDE adapter REV1 out of the blue because my REV3.1 died after fidling alot with it to make it work with my new 2TB HDD. To my surprise it worked perfectly, initial formatting and final configuration using XBpartitioner. Data seems to hold for now. No pr...

Re: Error compiling sources XBMC4XBOX

Looks like the compiling script cannot find Visual Studio. Have you completely installed the XDK? If yes you should check that .vcproj files are correctly linked to the correct version of Visual Studio.

Re: Jan'sEnglishXBMC4XBOX V2.1

Hello, does this build takes advantage of the extra 64mb of RAM on 128mb Xboxes? Also, aside from switching to confluence skin, is there any other thing I should do to make this build works best? I downloaded the latest archive yesterday, installed it and tried Icefilms only to get a error on launch...
