Re: XTV-LITE (Lost In Translation Edition) V 1.0
Nice, thanks for sharing aadc. I always install xtv-saf on my installs for kids and old folks, it's a great skin - so customisable and easy to use. Glad to hear wyrm is still working on it.

Re: 8gb and 10gb hard drives with XBMC
Not seen that episode but I do like the sound of having my own death ray. To be honest even if we have an xbmc4xbox community shared death ray I could live with that... currently I could get a lot of use out of that!

Re: 8gb and 10gb hard drives with XBMC
I also have a load of them if they are any good to anyone or even you nidge? I'm sure all of them are unlocked, some are formatted and some have xbmc installed, I have absolutely no need for them whatsoever. I will chuck them on ebay and sell as a job lot if nobody wants them. Really all I want is t...

As Xphazer says I do hope you've got your eeprom backed up. With a working DVD it's simple enough to fix but without its going to be a lot of hassle I'm afraid

Re: Can anybody mod my Xbox cheaply near Derby?
Hopefully the user will have more patience when it comes to doing research on how to softmod, if not I see a post coming this way in the near future... "I have a green error screen with a load of funny writing on it..." ;) No offense L33 I'm sure you were just having a particularly bad day...

Max cache size is only limited by how much space you have on your HDD, you don't need to set any manual numbers as it's deleted on playback so is only temporary storage.

Re: Can anybody mod my Xbox cheaply near Derby?
Wow give us some time to read the post mate! It's a Saturday, most people are out having fun. I was going to give you a proper write up of how to do it but if that's your attitude then good luck with your kit. It's an active forum but not so active that you can expect an immediate reply! All good th...

Re: Fatal Error on startup after install
That is recovery mode, it gives you the opportunity to ftp into the xbox and fix any errors. If you do as Dan suggests and copy the file over to replace your existing one in your userdata folder it should fix your problem. As for what went wrong I really don't know, sounds as though you may have a c...

Re: HELP!! I mucked up my softmod
Are those discs definitely the same ones you done the softmod with? The reason I ask is it sounds as though your using discs that aren't compatible with your xbox DVD-rom, they are very picky! Certain makes/models of CD-R, DVD-R's work on some and not on others. The best solution would be to burn He...

Re: FIRST VIRUS HITS XBMC USERS
I don't know mate, GA has been taken out of most addons so maybe that's it? I would suggest asking on the correct forum though. That is a hub addon so they will be able to help you out the best.

For anyone interested who wants to hear exactly what's been going on behind the scenes - I've decided to be completely open and frank about the whole grisly episode:

Re: In car xbox...the fun begins
Well to be fair I've looked at it twice lol
Looks great mate, very well done. Makes me want to install one into my car but the xbox would be worth more than the car! Some idiot recently wrote mine off so I'm now driving an old Ford Ka that cost me £400 with MOT and a full tank of fuel

Re: FIRST VIRUS HITS XBMC USERS
Update: Ok UmOuch has finally contacted me via youtube. I will replace with somet...

Re: FIRST VIRUS HITS XBMC USERS
Fair enough mate, I completely respect your decision there. The test ad for the little black box went out to over 100,000 users so I would imagine it would generate a fair amount of money but then I don't really know all the ins and outs - I'm not a coder and won't be using the function myself. That...

Re: FIRST VIRUS HITS XBMC USERS
I would call the update that was released to the maintenance tool a virus. Without warning it deleted content not related to that particular addon - a piece of software that mass deletes system data without warning is a virus in my book. As for the ads, it's something users and devs alike will be to...

Re: Buffering issue / cachemembuffersize fixed
Forgot to mention this but if you want to easily add the advancedsettings.xml for caching to HDD I've added it on my xbmc server. It's easy enough to make a file yourself but if you do want to use the one I made just do the following: go to filemanager and add a source then type in http://whufclee.m...

Re: Play games over network
Yeah totally correct, it's not possible with xbox games. However you can play old skool games (roms) via the network so if you're using an emulator for an older system (SNES, Amiga, MAME etc.) then yes you can but xbox games no you can't.
