Re: Need testers.
I have a few boxes in need of a refresh but I don't think I'll have time for testing for a few days. I'll give this a look over and see what I can do.

Re: XBMC4XBOX-32854 - XBMC Fatal Error
FTP'd a fresh folder across, no deletes, no adds and it works! Some tinkering around reveals that I had deleted the 'English' language folder and left the 'English (US)' folder ... but I had the language set to 'English'. After fixing that error and removing some unwanted skins (PM3.HD, all PAL fold...

Re: XBMC4XBOX-32854 - XBMC Fatal Error
Deleted the previous folder and re-FTP'd a fresh one across. Made no other file-copies, still same error. Will try an original (non-en) copy.

XBMC4XBOX-32854 - XBMC Fatal Error
Just trying to test out the latest release. Here's what I've done: 1. Extract the Zip file, search for 'lang' and delete all language folders from five locations outside of 'English' or equivalent. I do this to trim down the number of files/folders being transferred and have done this for all the bu...

Re: Oil cooled or water cooled Xbox
I'm about to start testing submersion cooling. In the past I've done extensive testing on heatsinks, thermal compounds and surface treatments, flow-control, fan-swaps, etc. Submersion should make all of this mostly irrelevant and make the system more reliable and very quiet. First two points of conc...

Re: Problem opening PM3 Skin Settings on nightly builds
tried the latest build, I can't get into PMIII's skin settings... I select it from the menu, press A and nothing happens... 32642 does the above 32598 does the above stable 3.3.3 works This should be in a new thread but I can confirm the problem in 32642. The previous build I was using (31787) work...

Re: OUYA (Android Console)
Yeah but isn't the xbox a cisc cpu and the ouya a risc cpu. Good point! But on the other hand we cannot leverage any of advanced functions from the Xbox GPU. Interesting tidbit: Xbox GPU (nv2a) - 233MHz - DDR3 (6.4GB/s) - 6.5 GFLOPS Ouya GPU (Geforce ULPx12) - 520MHz - DDR3 (6.4GB/s) - 12.5 GFLOPS .

Re: OUYA (Android Console)
XBMC 12.2 is now available on the Ouya store but apparently it's not an official release. http://liliputing.com/2013/08/xbmc-media-center-hits-the-ouya-store.html http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=OUYA "OUYA uses XBMC for Android. To hold users over who are waiting for a stable version of XB...

Re: FRAGing xbox sometimes boots?
If you haven't removed/replaced the Aerogel capacitor yet (and repaired the damage) then it's high-time you get on it. All Xboxes (aside from the v1.6 perhaps) need this done ASAP.

Re: OUYA (Android Console)
The Ouya is definitely more capable (at emulation) than the single-core, 700MHz Xbox with 64MB. The Ouya software situation is still very green though and needs some time to mature. I'd get one but then I'd need to get a separate box for analog audio/video so I'm happy just to sit and see how things...

Re: OUYA (Android Console)
And while talking about XBMC, lets not forget that Ouya in their wisdom appear to have locked the console to 60Hz. I'd like 50Hz please as thats what my TV broadcasts are and I'd like to use this as a HTPC (with live TV integration). Also where's the 24Hz option for media playback? 24P files look r...

Here's a less biased review, fairly informative: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/ouya-hardware-impressions-a-k-a-indie-game-the-console/ And another take on it from a non-reviewer who compares it with the Raspberry Pi: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1h3vdq/an_honest_review_of_the_ouya...

Re: Dead xbox
If it hasn't had the Aerogel capacitor removed/replaced then that's the very first thing I'd do. It leaks electrolyte on the motherboard and causes damage and power issues. All Xboxes (aside from the 1.6) need to have this taken care of ASAP.

Re: OUYA (Android Console)
Yeah I was tempted... but reading the reviews :( its getting slated! :o Which reviews? Aside from the shipping issues with some of the pre-orders & backers I've heard lots of good things. I've heard issues with the bluetooth and wifi reception but I think that's to do with the aluminum cover (s...
