Not necessarily. They only mention having an EvoX splash screen, which is possible with a softmod.

Flashing an Aladdin XT in a running system.
So, assume you have a TSOP'd XBOX 1.1 with header pins already soldered on the LPC points...
...would it be possible to boot up the system with your TSOP'd BIOS, then insert an Aladdin XT on the header pins, then use a BIOS flasher to flash the Aladdin chip to another BIOS?

Re: Aladdin XT modchip
I've installed 3 of them. Not exactly "full featured", but they do exactly what they're meant to do.
For $5 shipped, you can't beat that. It's almost easier to slap on an Aladdin XT on a Ver. 1.0-1.5 than it is to do a traditional TSOP flash install.

Re: TSOP flashing from the hard drive.
You can use Xblast OS or EvolutionX for most TSOP, Xblast OS for Winbond's. https://www.reddit.com/r/originalxbox/wiki/bios https://assemblergames.com/threads/release-xblast-os-v0-56.68344/ http://www.mediafire.com/file/i12jf5oux5af7jk/EvolutionX+FLASH.rar Just tried the flashing from EvolutionX......

No DVD drives work.
So, here's what I've got. A version 1.0 that's been TSOP flashed...I flashed it maybe 8 years ago, then put in on a shelf. So recently I pulled it out to get it going and I noticed it wouldn't recognise any DVD drive attached. I've tried: - 3 different original DVD drives (2 Thompsons and 1 Philips)...

TSOP flashing from the hard drive.
Anybody have a TSOP flashing guide for doing the flash from files on a hard drive? My Ver. 1.0 is already TSOP flashed, but I'd like to do a little more TSOP experimenting (split banks, different BIOS'es...etc) and it's a slim (no DVD drive). What files would I have to FTP over? Would you just FTP t...

Re: SATA Adaptor Compatibility thread
For the disk I bought the SSHD Seagate Firecuda compute 2.5 inch 2TB with 8GB NAND flash buffer and this seems to work perfectly. This is a cheap way to get some SSD performance without buying a 2TB SSD :D The Firecuda drives are 5400RPM...and the XBOX wouldn't know how to handle the NAND cache por...

Replacing a bad clock cap on a Version 1.6
...because sometimes they do go bad...even on 1.6's.

Can the capacitor just be removed, or do they have to be replaced on Version 1.6's?
This box is modded with an Aladin XT.

It's been suggested to cut the trace to A18/A19 after wiring up the switch...Is this necessary, or merely a suggestion? Any guides to this procedure?

Flashing a VGA BIOS
If I flash my Version 1.1 XBOX with a VGA BIOS, will it only be able to make a VGA connection, or can I still use the composite video cable I have? Right now, I use the Frosty's VGA boot disk to boot the VGA BIOS and I use my homemade VGA to XBOX AV cable...but it's a bit of an inconvenience to bust...

You can use a Version 1.2 to 1.6 GPU heatsink on a 1.0/1.1 without any problems.

TSOP switch for split BIOS
Is it possible to do the TSOP splitting switch mod on a Ver 1.0 that's already been flashed with the Xecuter2 5035 BIOS?
Could the switch be wired on, then you'd re-flash?

I'll note one more thing...
...occasionally a disk will be recognised using XBMC's file manager and I'll be able to run the game by choosing it's default.xbe file. If the game shows up in the XBMC file manager, then I launch DVD2XBOX, I'll then again be greeted with a "Tray Open" message.

Re: PC DVD drive in TSOP'ed XBOX
I picked up a Sony DDU1612 for $5 at my local electronics shop today. I've ordered a couple of NAND gates, as they're required for the drive mod to use this on my XBOX. I was wondering, most guides stress the importance of locating the TRAY_IN, TRAY_OUT, EJECT and DISK_READY points on the dvd drive....
