media center extender and win 8.1
ok, I have windows media center set up on a win 8.1 machine. I would like to be able to watch tv on my original xbox in the back room. However, when I run the setup, it says it can't find the extender. Is it because of software incompatibilities or is there some secret I am not aware of. I also reme...

XBox 360 for kids???????
While I use the XBox all the time, the kids are asking for a 360. I would like one that I can do homebrew and downloaded games(Is that ok to say here?) and it looks like I need to JTAG one. Has anybody here done it and can recommend a good tutorial? There are way too many out there to just pick one....

Re: changed router, now can't connect to network
This is a TP-LINK wireless N router. My setup is as follows: WinXP computer with a Trendnet router(primary). From the Trendnet router a cable runs to the living room and connects to the TP-LINK which gives me wireless in the back of the house as well as hooking up the Xbox and PS2. I had another Tre...

Re: changed router, now can't connect to network
yes, I tried to add a new source, but it just said it could not connect to the network. How do I open up port 445?

changed router, now can't connect to network-SOLVED
My router that was attached to my xbox quit working the other day, so I bought a new one. The problem is that while the router appears to be working perfectly, the xbox can no longer connect to my network, meaning I can no longer play movies and games sitting on my PC. The weird part is, the xbox is...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
did you put in the name of your computer-how it is listed on your network? here is the example that I used: LOCAL_IP=10.1.1.2 SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY_IP=10.1.1.1 smbshare=smb://10.1.1.1/EmuXtras smb_nameserver=LOFT-PC Local IP is the Xbox's IP. Gateway IP is my PC's network adapter that th...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
Well, I finally was able to get mine to work perfectly, but I hate to tell you that of the 4 emulators you listed, I believe only the PSX is capable of being played over a network. The Madmab emulators are set up to work over a network, so that includes about 20 different systems, but he does not ha...

Re: Scraper Issues
I know this is probably stupid, but how exactly do I apply this patch? If you're not working with the source code, it will be easier for you to download the three already-patched files from my bug report and use them to replace the corresponding files in your xbmc installation. I did this via ftp. ...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
sigh.... OK, let me see what I can do here. This is beginning to be somewhat frustrating, but I will keep at it till I succeed. (all my other emulator snaps/videos work just fine, but they are on the Xbox harddrive, and it has run out of room)
Thanks for the info!

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
is there a specific format needed in terms of labeling these folders? Maybe a FAQ somewhere? You have yours in a folder called action, whereas mine is in a folder called snap. Does that matter?

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
my media directory is set to my smb directory where the snaps are. I also have the saved screenshot directory and movies/preview directory set to my smb directory where the snaps are. And the snaps are named the same as the roms, it is just that I don't have enough space on the XBox harddrive to put...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
Oh sorry a bit of confusion there, I thought you were talking about the xbox playing PS2 games  No problem. That would be really cool though. That would really turn the XBox into a Super Machine!! Hey Bigby, now that I have the PSX games running off of the network, can you give me a clue how t...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
I think you mean PSOne games ;) Good to hear this is working though, I'll have to try and free up some time and have a go myself. No, about 2 weeks ago I set up my PS2 to play PS2 games over the network as well. I would have liked to have the PS2 play the PSOne games, but apparently it does not wor...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
DUDE!!!! you totally ROCK!!! Who would have figured changing 3 little letters from uppercase to lowercase would do the trick. It works great now. I just finished setting up my PS2 to play games over the network, in that everything had to be uppercase in order to work. I just figured it was the same ...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
I am starting to think the same thing. I have mine hooked up over a router, and I have been streaming movies from my PC this way for several years, so I know that it works. However, I wonder if the network settings I am using in PSCXBOX are the problem. I have searched online for anything about runn...

Re: emulator roms and snaps over network?
on every game I try it gives me the same error. If I have the game on my xbox harddrive then it works fine.
it is almost like while the xbox sees the network, it is not loading off of the network. I wonder if there is a network setting that I have off?
