I don't see where on that diagram I'm supposed to solder the write-enable bridge on the duo x3. Looks like the installation instructions to me.xman wrote:Chinese Clone X3............http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... p=142#p142

Re: duo x3 clone write-protection?
on some of the aladdin ones i had to change some solder bridges to flash them as they were fitted with the incorect flash type for the jumpers would this be the case with these clone chips? Yep that is correct, you do need to solder in the write enable link. Did on my X3 clones that's for sure. Onc...

Re: duo x3 clone write-protection?
Do I need an external power source? Can't I just stick my new larger hard drive in the xbox and use HeXEn to build?

Re: duo x3 clone write-protection?
Do you get an error message when you try to flash? What about if you use the Winbond flasher on HeXEn? Does that give you a different result, or an error message? Also, I thought that the DuoX3 was a single 256kB bank modchip. If yours has two banks, how do you switch between them? Any chance of a ...

duo x3 clone write-protection?
Hi all, I just recently installed a Duo X3 china clone in my xbox v1.2. It comes with 2 bios -- I believe they are custom Evox M8plus BIOS and an X2 something because it boots up with a colored duo x3 logo. Anyway, I am trying to flash the two banks with Hexen to the normal standard Evox M8 plus and...

Re: DVDplayer not playing audio on some .mkvs
@ sixties keith. I'm just using the regular cables that came with the xbox and on a regular fat pre-lcd 4:3 tv. I don't really have a lot of mkvs or higher resolution videos because it stutters on the xbox. I try to add only dvd files or avis. Also as a side note, I noticed when I play any type of v...

DVDplayer not playing audio on some .mkvs
Hi all. Like the title says DVDplayer is not playing audio on some mkv files. These are dual audio mkvs and for some reason the audio sometimes works if I switch to Japanese. Sometimes it would freeze when I try to change the audio tracks back and forth, then I have to power off the xbox. I do get v...

Re: Which 1TB / 1.5 TB / 2 TB drives do you use in your xbox
Softmod -> tsop = same thing ;) & free Maybe but I can't see why you would spend around $100 on a HDD and then skimp on a $8 modchip so it will be reliable. Horses for courses I guess but I really see big arsed HDDs in Xboxes not really suitable for softmods. I know some people have had them ru...

Re: Resizing Vobsub (idx/sub) subtitles?
Hi. Sorry to post in an old thread but I have the same question. My subtitles are displayed in a big font which covers the screen and runs to the right and off the screen when I use DVDplayer. However, mplayer displays subtitles bottom center in a readable smaller font. The subtitles settings does n...

Re: TSOP Recovery help.
Even without a 29-wire modchip, you can still save your Xbox if you install a cheap modchip, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the cheapest ones available in the US (if that's where you are) can be had for less than $6 shipped. I don't think I am up to the task for doing a 29 wir...

Re: TSOP Recovery help.
Yea I saw that scary picture when I was searching for a fix. I was really hoping someone had found an easier method for fixing a TSOP. I wish I had the skill to save my xbox because of the sentimental value :( . I guess it's going to collect dust for awhile. Well, thank you for confirming what I was...

Re: TSOP Recovery help.
I think the 3 wire trick is only for v1.0 or 1.1. I have a v1.2, so I don't think that will work for me. Good luck with your fix.

TSOP Recovery help.
Hi everyone. Long time reader, first time poster. So I decided to flash my TSOP so that I could use a bios that would support a larger hard drive since all my data got corrupted. I was using the HeXEn disk to flash the suggested bios, ind-bios 5003. I was able to successfully flash to iND-BiOS.5003....
