Re: Changing Region - Won't save

Sounds like a typical Shadow C annoyance to me too but how are you exiting Enigmah? It has, also annoyingly, no formal exit button. If you're shutting down the Xbox then restarting and have a Shadow C that's why it is reverting back to the original settings. You should use the controller reset optio...

Re: Softmod with ide to sata

All normal behaviour. The Xbox HDD and MB are locked together via an eeprom, effectively an key code and although it is possible to hot swap and build a new softmodded HDD using XBHDM USB it is risky. No burned disc is going to boot on an unmodded Xbox and no HDD, even if unlocked, formatted to FATX...

Motherboard/Power Board Screws

Does anyone here know exactly what the screw size/type are used for the 13 screws which secure the Xbox MB (motherboard) and PB (power-board)? I've asked around in other forums and the only suggestion I've had so far is that they might be MS custom screws. Obviously they're Torx10 with what are call...

Re: BIOS ID Detection

I decided to add the two 512K BIOS on my Xecuter 2.6CE chip (2 x 512K banks) to my BIOS Checker app's BIOS list as Evox M8+ v1.6 137 (FG) Cstm1 and Cstm2 respectively. They are definitely Evox M8+, they're on a v1.6 Xbox and I've had no problems with larger HDDs or partitions so that must be the bas...

Re: Using XBMC as default dash.

The Apps folder is meant to display in the same way with both dashes - the only difference is that if you had F:\ or G:\Apps you might have to put in those locations as a new path manually when using XBMC. Your primary dash UnleashX's config.xml is usually set up to include all three locations. What...

Re: Using XBMC as default dash.

That looks very like the messy dash installation HeXEn left on my newly TSOPed Xbox except, if that is the main dash you were using for the screenshots, it is XBMC not UnleashX. You do appear to have an UnleashX dash on C:\ (evoxdash.xbe/config.xml/item.xml) but if that is your main dash and the evo...

Re: Using XBMC as default dash.

With a chip, as long as it is reliable, and you're using a good BIOS and Evox M8+ 1.6 137 (F&G) is as good as it gets IMHO there is pretty much nothing you can do to stuff up your Xbox short of reflashing the BIOS with something else or not partitioning F&G correctly. You're not going to do the form...

Re: Locked hard drive

Anyone finding this thread now be aware that in a 2017 update Rocky5 changed the required location for the external eeprom file from the E:\drive to Y:\eeprom.bin. It is in the readme that comes with Chimp 261812 but I suspect a lot of people reading this thread might not think to check that before ...

Re: Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

Its when you reach the limit on one or the other that the problems occur.

It also depends on what exactly 1014GB means - if that is what the Xbox itself is reporting ie. 1,014,000MiB on F and G then you're OK because that is actually 990GiB (base 1024)

Re: Xbox ISO vs HDD ready?

This sounds like a XBHDM USB (XBox Hard Drive Maker) sort of thing - something I know practically nothing about.

This thread seems relevant but whether XBHDM can do what you want and any better than the other methods I have no idea.

Re: Xbox ISO vs HDD ready?

If you use FileZilla you will get immediate information at the bottom of the screen about how many files there are to transfer, how many have been successfully transferred and how many have failed. When the ones which have been FTPed successfully first time are done you are told that some files fail...

Re: BIOS ID Detection

I've done a bit more research on this but not the XBMC question. It seems I'm likely right about them being Evox M8 series and as it is a v1.6 Xbox and supports extended partitions must be, at its core, one of those but both modified in some way, probably using the EVTool. As said it was chipped by ...

BIOS ID Detection

Can somebody please explain how to get XBMC to display the BIOS ID correctly? If you open the Shutdown menu > Information > Hardware option under Detected BIOS it shows Unknown. Please add MD5 from xbmc.log to BiosIDs.ini. Well I've opened the log and I can not see a MD5 hash anywhere and where is t...

Re: Xbox ISO vs HDD ready?

Once set up and working FTP is the best and fastest method to get stuff to the Xbox. You certainly would not want to use anything else for bulk transfers. But when transferring large amounts of stuff with lots of small files some will simply not copy first time. Re-queuing them and 99% of the time t...

Re: Xbox ISO vs HDD ready?

I think you've found some bad information or misunderstood something along the way. To play a Xbox game from anything other than the original disc the Xbox must be either chipped, TSOPed or softmodded. Any problems with specific games is usually due to the Xbox v1.6 Xcalibur video chip it uses. Rock...

Re: Xbox ISO vs HDD ready?

The same Xbox game files that are used to make a XISO for burning to disc media are those you'd FTP or transfer some other way to the HDD. Assuming your Xbox is modded: with it on disc there is nothing to stop you launching that on the Xbox and simply copying the files from it to a named folder in "...

Re: Creating E Drive larger than 4-5GB?

You mean you're using a 3TB HDD and are happy just to use (roughly) 2TB of it, the maximum size the Xbox supports. I'd assume the standard advice applies whether hard or softmodded and that is F and G MUST be of equal size if you want to use the full 2TB. That means less than 1024GiB in each - I'd m...

Re: 1.6 clock cap

The life of any capacitor should depend on the typical temperatures it has experienced during use and that is largely dependent on the ambient temperature, location ie.ventilation, insulation caused by dust/fluff build up and of course how often it is used. It is my contention that the clock capacit...

Glad to read it is fixed.

BTW looks like the Confluence skin (possibly Confluence Lite) - never knew it showed fps. I'll have to check that out.
