I hear you, probability and storage was my MO,thats why I made it so boxy and sturdy. It's super easy to stack and store.

Re: better late than never, my minified xbox project

correct, stained birchwood. I was worried that it would overheat easily, but those copper heatsyncs hold up very well. It does run a bit hot but within safe ranges. What model of cooler did you use on the CPU and GPU...? The CPU has an Iceberq 4 Premium, its not manufactured anymore but you can sti...

Re: better late than never, my minified xbox project

Time to start producing & selling the case, so I can make one :-P I don't have access to a laser cutter, so it would be good old saws, chisels & drills. How much for a precut case? (Not assembled just laser cut) With the lid on is there space for the original heatsinks? As I would use a blo...

Re: better late than never, my minified xbox project

Another interesting thing to note is the I/O panel in the back. Thats actually the plastic from the original case. I was worried about misaligning the screws that seat the motherboard, and the holes for the a/v port and stuff, so i just used the bottom and that portion of the case and cut it down to...

Re: better late than never, my minified xbox project

Amazing work Charlie, looks absolutely perfect IMO. Any thoughts on lighting? Good question, I should probably take a few shots to showcase the lighting features, they're few but key. I wanted to keep the lighting very minimal and unassuming. The heat sink fans and mod-chip all give off a nice dim ...

Re: better late than never, my minified xbox project

Very nice, one question is the PicoPSU 160-XT sufficient for the 5v amparage & also does it work with a 2.5" hdd & stock dvd drive? As I wanted to do something like this, but wasn't sure if the Xbox would run from a PicoPSU. My Dreamcast runs fine with a 160w picopsu, but that doesn't ...

better late than never, my minified xbox project

After years of seeing all the cool minified xbmc projects different folks have posted over the years, I finally got the nerve to build one of my own. Its not the thinest, but its a whole lot smaller then the stock model. - Inside is a 1.6 mother board - picopsu160-xt - xecuter2.6 chip to run the boa...
