I'm going to look at that today.
Follow-up... got the internal DVD dongle working off the Xir IR eye. AWESOME!!!
I love watching XBMC show 'IR Remote' and then I plug a controller into the port and it says 'Gamepad'!
Another follow-up... embedded a wireless dongle as well.
I've got to stop!

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Ok so I'm running the wireless adapter off the existing power supply. Can I add another device without issues? I picked up a power supply board that matched the old transformer of the wireless adapter I could simply piggyback off of the AC in points and then use the power supply for the 5 volts for ...

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Don't be jealous yet...
To do's:
Install XERC 2 & MS DVD Dongle
Install Component to HDMI converter internal to case
Replace clone Xenium with Xenium (clone requires an MS Controller plugged in to boot)
Profit!

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
I added an external high-gain antenna because the signal was too low while the antenna it came with us inside the case.
Awesome reception now and it looks 'stock'!

Re: XBMC Splash Screen and iND-BIOS 5003 Issues
How do you get rid of "Loading IND-BIOS" from displaying? I have several Xboxes that I want to 'silent boot' into XBMC.

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
I had to bore the hole out to fit the new switch. I have one of the old switcher kits that actually reboots the xbox with a new drive selected. you might be able to put that in. What would you do with 6TBs of storage? I'm going to wire a dvd dongle in this weekend, and add an external wifi antenna t...

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Hi Dave, The slim metal piece on the left is the power/dvd button. The top is the on/off; bottom is the dvd tray. The thing in the middle is a recessed switch to enable the USB port in lieu of a controller port. I think my case was the last version they came out with because I remember seeing the on...

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Ok, I couldn't wait. Swapped out the knob with a nice blue rimmed switch that can turn the wifi power on and off.
It matches the color of the LEDs on the power switch on the far left.
Came out sweet!

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Some things I want to do to 'complete' the project are: 1) The knob on the right used to be for selecting which hard drive had power. It broke a while ago so I'm going to turn it into a knob that turns the wifi on or off. 2) Solder the ethernet adapter to the motherboard underside so I can plug in a...

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Taking your advice I was able to mount the unit into the case as is, leveraging the +5 volt from the power supply. I found a flat thin ethernet cable that I can out the case and into the ethernet port so if I want to disable I just unplug it. I placed it in the far left back end of the case. Without...

Re: Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Hi Rocky5,
I found on ebay a power supply board that provides 6volts and 1amp. I'm going to split a line off where the current power cord attaches to the existing power supply and power it that way.
Make sense?

Embed the MN740 in a modded xbox case
Hello all, I have an MCXB case for one Xbox that can fit up to six hard drives. Since I can get a 2TB in there just fine with everything I want on it I have a lot of extra space. I'd like to be able to install the MN740 wifi adapter in the case so the unit can be self-contained. Does anyone know how...
