It looks to me like a bad capacitor crapped-out and caused a short.

Here is my classic v1.0 Xbox



The only mods so far are:
- swapped original HDD for 120GB
- removed GPU fan
- installed heatsinks
- added 80mm case fan

Next up will be an even larger HDD...

If I remember correctly, the 211 and 404 are just date stamps. So, 211 would be Year 2002 and Week 11.
