As trogggy says it sounds as though you're trying to burn an Xbox360 game and not an original xbox game. I don't know of any old xbox games that weigh in at over 8gb. I have tried on numerous occasions for burn the iso with imgburn to a disc, but most times it fails. However the few iso I have are 8.14GB, so I read that you use burnermax to open your drive or something like that so you can then burn it onto a 8.5GB disc. I may misunderstand (and im not the most knowledgeable so this may well be the case lol) but what are you trying to do? rip you xbox games?
