The other way to get ftp access would be to cold boot an installer disc - I use Hexen - but either way should let you sort it out.
A long as you haven't knacked your softmod (which you obviously haven't) it's just a case of ftping a build to the right place and re-booting.

Gutted for you Lee - from outside it looks like you're prob'ly more affected by this than any dev, with guides, videos and builds tied to the hub.

Meanwhile I'm trying stick a netbook motherboard and a pi (well why not, it's only diddy) in an xbox slim case.

I had one with a noisy fan on the gpu. Now it's one with a missing fan over the gpu - been fine for years.

Hexen on dvd-r boots fine on my box. Never tried it on anything else.

Download a recovery disc (Hexen or Slayers), burn it, stick it in the drive and re-boot the xbox. It should boot from the disc, which will give you FTP access.

Pick your emulators folder.
Call it Emulators
Click the shortcut and it should work.

How did you install 3.3 (presumably that's the freezing build)? FTP? Overwrite or fresh folder?

No, unless the softmod process requires it. The original backups are all you need to build a new disc from scratch.
