Can't FTP the new 3.2.1 build over

I've been running the 3.2 stable no problem. Come to try 3.2.1 and it won't work. I get 80+ failed transfers, and the shortcut has gone from the apps section. I can't load it up. I've gone back to 3.2 stable for now.

The way i do it is, navigate to apps/xbmc then delete everything in there. Credits, docs etc. Then i unrar the build on my pc and ftp it over into the empty xbmc folder. Been working perfect like that for many builds, so what's going on with this one?

hi !

i copy the build .zip or rar complete and unpack it with the xbmc filemanager ( thats works better)

I hope you've not been ftp'ing whilst xbmc is running - if so you've been very lucky in the past as that is a very bad habit to get into. That would mean you're are actually deleting the operating system that's running (usually there's a few files that will refuse to be deleted as they're being used). These files you ftp over will not replace these running files either so you'll end up with a bunch of mixed files from different builds. Not good.

I suggest you watch my "Update via ftp" video guide. Also, are you trying to install the proper compiled build and not source?

No, i always update xbmc with the xbox idling on operating system. XBMC is never actually running when i ftp a new version over. I'll try ftp'ing the zip file over, then unpacking it that way.

EDIT. OMG, i am such a noob. It was indeed the source code i was trying to ftp over. Doh. Thanks for that. Where can i download the build?

Idling in the operating system? Oh I think I know what you mean - you don't have the xbox automatically boot into xbmc and are running evox or unleashx as the default dashboard? In that case that's fine but I still recommend using the method in the video so you always have your backup if anything fails.
