Xbmc freezing when adding sources

Right now I'm hitting a wall where Xbmc 3.5.3 will freeze whenever I go to add or edit a source. It doesn't matter if it's pictures/videos/games, whenever I hit the white button and go to Edit / Add Source, it locks up on the "add ___ source" dialog. If I'm editing, the path listed does exist on my HDD. Doesn't matter if network is connected or not. I only have simple local paths in E, F, and G depending on the content. Deleting a source works.

I tried copying over a fresh / untouched copy of Xbmc to no avail. Maybe it's a HDD issue? I have a 2TB drive formatted through XB Partitioner 1.3 using 64k clusters for F and G which are split evenly at about 927GB each (if I remember correctly). Games, apps, and everything else seems to work fine. File browser works fine. Games (stored on G) load fine.
Xbox v1.2 running iND-BIOS 5003 67 (F+G).

Any suggestions? Anyone seen this?

Update - it's related to controllers. I was using a Logitech Wireless Precision controller this whole time. I tried unplugging it and switching to an old Duke controller and the problem stopped happening. The dialog box can be open and "frozen" (or seeming frozen, rather), and I can switch to a duke on the same port and Xbmc then works fine. If I switch back to wireless the problem returns. If I have the duke connected and I then plug in the wireless controller to another port, the duke can still control the dialog buttons until I press a button on the wireless controller. After pressing a button (any), it locks up for both controllers until I unplug the wireless one. After unplugging the wireless controller, the duke controller can control things just fine. Must be a bug I guess?

It does the same thing regardless of if there's a memory unit in the wireless controller btw. I have a spare wireless receiver unit that I tried. Same result / no difference.
