Organizing XBOX games into categories/genres/favorites

Is there a way to organize games into some sort of division/hierarchy?
It would be nice to be able to have a structure like:
Action
Horror
RPG
Shooters
etc...
Ideally this could be done without having to organize the games on the HDD in a specific way, since a single game might fall into more than one category.
At the very least, what I would like to have is a way to create a list of favorite games so that I don't need to browse through the entire directory.
I think there is not an officially supported way to do this, but I figure with this much of a user base over 10 years some people have figured out some clever ways to do this. There has to be at least a couple ways to skin this cat.
