Nidge did you have to amend your listing? Ebay have removed a couple of mine over the last week - presumably because I mentioned mame and coinops. There is a business seller on there (consolemania) whose items are never taken down - looks to me like he is building himself a nice wee monopoly - only his xboxes arent being removed. Funny that.

Hi Murphio, I know exactly what you mean

I have had one removed. I complained to ebay that they aren't being fair, I've had an confirmation of my email, but nothing has been done! They either have to remove
ALL modded and soft-modded Xboxes from the site, or leave eveyone alone? That's why I have listed on ebid and on this forum. It does seem strange that CM can get away with it, maybe he works for ebay? Wondering if he is the one reporting other sellers? I have no proof to support any of this but very suspcious

That is exactly what is happening in my view mate - he is selling tons of the things if you check his feedback. If he has somehow managed to get himself credited with the intellectual property of something he is selling within coinops or whatever that could explain it. Or it could be that as a business seller with high volume they are happy to take his money. Whatever the case - it isnt fair. I sold a really nice box for a good price and they removed it - after it had been sold. I had to issue a refund. The guy still wanted it though so I sold it as a pair of work boots. Very frustrating.

I hope he isn't on here, he wouldn't be very popular if he was known.

Hello, new member here but not elsewhere and have been in various scences for coimng up on 30 years, maybe you know me better as Jinxter, for instance I wrote a driver to enable all old CD writers to burn Dreamcast disks back in the day.
I say this not to brag or get credit but purely to point out that I'm not a noobie or a bitch.
Right that's out of the way, perhaps you know be better as ConsoleX-Mania? ... because you seem to want to spout off about me like you know me, if you have something to say to someone say it to there face not behind their back like little bitches.
I can assure you that I've not reported anyone to Ebay, and have had several auctions taken down myself, search on my item numbers 150943164864 and 150935662704 so it's not me sorry to dissapppoit you and all.
But unlike you I take the time to pick up the phone and talk to the people there to find out exactly what you can put in a listing, you should try it sometime instead of whinging and making false accusations.
Cheers
Jinxter (Consolex-mania)

I think we should get something straight - this has nothing whatsoever to do with what is put into listings or picking up the phone to ebay. A modded console is against ebay rules - full stop. It shouldnt make a difference that you have put a disclaimer re modchips, boot disks or game enhancers. You are not allowed to sell anything which allows game piracy - which, like it or not mate, your consoles do like every other console on there which has xbmc or coinops. You cant have coinops without a mod which also allows pirated games to be played and you know that is a fact. There is enough room and enough buyers out there for everyone - your consoles are the top end of the market, people like Nidge are the lower end. Personally speaking all I am interested in doing is getting rid of my last few consoles and getting my money back. I havent been able to do that because someone has been watching my listings and reporting them - which is pretty low and very, very unfair. I am 100 per cent not saying this was you mate though and I sincerely wish you luck with your endeavours.

I understand that, but I was accussed of being a grass or worse on this thread when I have had listing closed too, that's not on when it's done behind some ones back as it takes away their opportunity to defned themselves ... like it or not that's what this thread descended into ... maybe just from my point of view, but when another forum member points it out I think not.
I'm not going to go to the ins and outs of trading on Ebay, that's a not really the main point here as I do not think anyone has been singled out we've all taken hits on there.
Hears a bit of advice though, that I hope you'll take in the spirit it's meant, for instnace if you put an immediate payment requirement on a listing it does not matter if they remove the listing or not you still have a link t the end customer and the sale can still continue, of course you have to communicate with your customer but this should not be a problem you still get the sale and they still get the item they wanted.
Anyway as both nidge and I have said we've settled our misunderstanding and I hope that we can too.

Yes mate of course - your consoles are top notch, worth every penny. In fact - you probably sell them too cheap. If anyone wants a bigger version I'd be happy to point them in your direction.

Sincerely - good luck.
