Hi everyone, I have two mobos, both were for sale on the marketplace, that I messed up with bad TSOP flashes, a 1.1 and 1.4. I have got the 1.1 working again using an Akira v2 modchip. I soldered a pinheader to the board, and D0 point to earth. It all booted up fine, then I tried the Hexen disc to see if I could flash the Akira bios, I was supprised to find I could. It now has an X2 256 BIOS on it :D I also tried pulling the modchip off the board once booted to see if I could re-flash the TSOP, but Hexen then reports that it is not flashable, with a warning at the top of the screen saying "Do Not Flash" ?? The TSOP points are soldered and I de-soldered the D0 earth before trying, having to hold it on the earth while booting with the Akira.
I've put the Akira and the D0 earth back and it's all working fine again, I guess the TSOP is well and truly F*****D

really the only way you can fix a bad tsop is with a Chameleon modchip.

You can also fix a bad TSOP with a 29 wire modchip.

What would I need to flash the tsop externally? :)

a universal programmer such as this :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-EEPRO ... 19cb6b3f47

And a tsop40 adaptor:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4in1-Programmer ... 2ebc6d9d9c

i would also reccomend a hot air staiton or tweeser type soldering iron.

cheaper and easier to fit a chip and be done with it.!!!

Yes I agree fitting a chip is the cheaper option :) I was just curious as to what was needed ;)
