Chimp not working properly..crashing xbox

I've used chimp before no problems.
On the one I'm doing now as soon as I select the lpartx from the apps screen the xbox turns off. I've tried on another console I had spare and it's doing the same...what could I be doing wrong??
Also it does it if I only have the original hdd connected and the dvd drive so seems like it's something else
