This is a Xbox General Knowledge post where you may actually learn something you didn't know or may like to participate in the answers to the questions. This is just for fun although the information obtained may come in handy for the rebuilding of the wiki which can't be a bad thing can it?. Please only answer the questions once per member and only the amount of answers required for the question just so as to allow others to answer as well when the question is that where multiple answers are available. Please answer the questions in one post, if you know the answers to some or all of the questions, doesn't really matter. For ease of reading, try to answer the questions like-

OK, I'll throw 3 questions out there and see how we go....

1- Name 3 different types of Xbox modchips......

2- Name 2 different apps other than XBMC for the Xbox.......

3- What is the least common model of the Xbox?. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6A or 1.6B........

Well you guys seem to get the idea of what this is about but I seem to have misjudged the knowledge out there. 70 views and only 3 modchip types named?. Maybe the "wise guys" haven't seen this Q and A yet, don't know but time will tell I guess. Feels free to answer the questions to date as well as the new ones seeing as they haven't all been answered. Anyway, here's another couple of questions.

4- What was XBMC previously called?.

5- Name the 3 types of mods required to allow an Xbox to run XBMC.

6- Name the factory country locations that manufactured the Xbox.

XBMP was the original name but it changed to Xbox Media Player 2.0 when frodo who made YAMP "Yet Another Media Player" joined the team back in the day.

and i guess china, i believe Flextronics and Wistron manufactured them for microsoft with the main plants in china.

Well I was only after XBMP but I just learnt something myself that I didn't know, thanks for that. The last question I meant countries like Hungary, China etc but once again you educated me. I thought there was only one plant in China.
This question......5- Name the 3 types of mods required to allow an Xbox to run XBMC.....I would have said Hardmod, softmod and TSOP but nothing wrong with being more descriptive.

I see there are a lot of hits on this topic so it is creating a bit of interest so feel free to have a go. No one will bag you out if you answer wrong.

Hmmm the first player for the Xbox was released by d7o3g4q closed source called XBPlayer - He then joined forces with RUNTiME who had XboxMediaPlayer (XBMP) they kept the XBMP name - Frodo then joined bringing YAMP with him.... the three of them completely re-wrote the code from the original XBMP and XBMC was born.

I can think of some more mod chips - Xtender, Enigma and Messiah... really old... never used them to be honest, I only own one hard-modded xbox.. mine are all soft mod

They were also built in Hungary and Mexico.

A gamesave exploit is not really a softmod. A softmod allows you to run unsigned code at boot. Exploits existed a while before softmods.

10. Bert & Ernie, Ndure, and another one that's on the tip of my tongue. EDIT: I think it had a bunch of E's in it. EE
11.Phoenix (PBL), Linux Loader?, all I got.
12.Tray conditional booting? Has ISO loading been backported?

I'm a big ldots fan too. First softmod installer, and I don't know where I'd be without HDD Manager.

11. PBL by Team Phoenix , Frosted Bios Loader by Tomilus and PBL Metoo by rmenhal.
12. ISO Loading aka virtual cdrom has indeed been ported by xman954 from nkpatcher to Evox M8 and IND-5003.
