Emulators - use and knowledge wanted

Hi!
This is my first post, so hello everyone! I do apologize if this post has already been covered - simply link me to any relevant information if this is the case.
I am looking to use my xbox as mainly a console full of emulators, so if anyone can give me any advice on:

Nes
Snes
Master System
Megadrive
N64
PSX

Regarding these systems i would love to have these questions answered (if possible of course) for each system:

What emulator is best?
Does it run as designed?
Do any certain games not run (Mainly the "classics" of the systems such as MGS for PSX)
Any other information worth noting?

I have looked at Coin Ops but it seems incredibly bloated from a glance, i am only interested in emulating the cream of the crop of these consoles really. But if it is actually decent, do let me know!

Thanks for helping me out, i own an old Xbox with XBMC on it - after being given it from a friend ive understood the true capabilities and am looking at expansion!

Nice one! :)

CoinOPS 5 is just around the corner:

The full package will give more than you can ever handle  perhaps try the lite one?

I have used MAME and SNES emulators in my XBOX so far, and they work great. But I would really give CoinOPS a try...

Topic moved to Misc XBOX Discussion - it isn't xbmc4xbox related.

There are also the madmab edition emulators (and others) that you could try. These allow you to add only the games that you want.

Nes - mednafenx_nes (or nestopiaX)
Snes - Snes9xbox (or zsnesbox)
Master System - MekaX
Megadrive - neogenesis
N64 - surreal64ce
PSX - pcsxbox

Most of these emulators have had updates, whereas the cores that are in CoinOPs are mainly the older xport emulators. Compatibility is much improved with the madmab editions.

For more info check out emuxtras.net

For console emulation stick to the Madmab Emu's with Emuxtras, use Coinops for arcade only or use Final Burn Legends. Coinops is getting to be such a bloaded mess of crap.

it also doesn't honour the source licenses of the programs it incorporates, which is pretty insulting to the original authors. A complete source release (including all requisites) with every public binary release would solve this, but it seems clear the author has no intensions of doing this. I'd love to be proved wrong and see a full source release with the next version.

Sorry for the misguided place in topic - truth be told this is the first true forum i have actively been interested in posting and using properly. so sorry about that!

Yeah Coin Ops seems to be too much of a mess, the only reason i can think of using it is because of its GUI.

I will look around more regarding the emulators mentioned! I know what im looking at now!

Cheers for the info! :D

Where can I download the source code for emulators???

I have a sega emulator (neogenesis v25) on my xbox.
A link to the downloadsite would be cool.

The source code for xport emulators are on the xbins ftp server. For any other source, ask at emuxtras.net

When did you post... today?

I see that there is no member by the name "Luigi" on the emuxtras site. Can I ask which username you are using there?

PM me at emuxtras, and I will find out why your post was deleted.
