Given a soft modded XBOX (now what?)

A tenant in a house I own decided to leave some items behind when he moved out. Luckly, one of them was a modded XBOX.
So, being the type of person I am I bought some new cords and controllers. Plugged it in and off I went.

Here is what I do know or are pretty sure of. It is soft modded using SID 5 Splinter Cell exploit.
It has SID 5.11 Installer USB on it and also XBMC 360 as well as numerous games (ISOs and emulators)

Given it's age is it still possible to update any of the software on it? I don't think that I need to remove the soft mod (probably a bad idea) anyway).
I would like to remove the ISOs and update the emulators. Maybe even install a version of CoinOps.

Thank you in advance for any guidance and my apologies if I posted this question in the wrong area.

Great find :-) the best I found was an old seperates hi fi and speakers in a house move :-)
Can you see what size HDD is in there ?
Look under system in xbmc :-), then after that , do you have a laptop or pc available ? This is so you can ftp to the Xbox .

Yes, you should be able to update to the latest version. You seem to know your way around, start having a read through these first before you do anything.
Moving thread to Xbox Modding.

Thank you for the responses.

Yes, I can confirm that XBMC360 is just a skin and thank you for that information.

I am going to do some reading of the other links you provided to make sure I get a better understanding of what I currently have and what direction I want to go.
From my initial look at it Rocky's Softmod Kit is doable from my perspective.

Thanks again.

If you are going to use my softmod kit, I would recommend v1.2.

If you need any info or help, just let me know.

Download v1.2

Rocky5's Softmod is solid, give it a try. He has all the useful options available to edit as well. Very streamlined, and I didn't even try his newest version
