XBMC4Xbox

ok so i've gotten an xbox with mod chip aladdin xt plus 2

my xbox has slayer but i want to set it a fresh install with xbmc4xbox 3.2 stable

from my understanding its an app that goes into the app on e drive

and reaname XBMC4XBOX 3.2 STABLE with XBMC and the old with XBMC1
in zip format or folder?

right? or wrong?

but now the real question since i've read my mod chip does work with xbmc better
than slayer

am i going to install aid's deluxe xbmc's prgram with updated files it comes with

or is there an xbmc iso i can use to do this before that works so that my xbox4xbmc 3.2 stable works correctly

because im not sure where i can find the preinstallation of xbmc that it needs to after install the xbox4xbmc 3.2 stable version on to it


also i've been installing the aid xbmc version and don't know if thats the correct way to go

well i tried to change xbmc file to xbmc1 and xbmc3.2stable to xbmc

from filezilla and flashfxp

but it wouldn't let me rename it

Did you have xbmc running while you tried to rename the folders?

Try running dvd2xbox or evox or the slayer's disc and then ftp in to make the change. Also, which FTP mode are you using active or passive? I think evox prefers active mode, but dvd2xbox and xbmc can use either...

with my computer

im not sure what you mean but on my upgrade of modem router 3108hgv v6
from uverse att&t i used simple port forwarding to open a port 21 and 22


i used 21 and it worked fine until i tried to rename it

im trying just to use xbmc as is because i don't know how to go about any other way

it worked i messed with the setting on filezilla

what exactly is suppose to do

The Q drive is a mirror of the xbmc build that's currently running - the only thing you want to be putting in there is if you want to manually ftp over some plugins or scripts. Nothing else should be going in the Q drive.

If you watch the tutorial video I made about "upgrading via ftp" it will explain the steps needed.

i got xbmc 3.2 stable working and renamed them the xbmc original xbmc 1 not 2 does it make a diffence, and left the stable to xbmc
anyways still booted with xbmc 3.2 working


but im trying to install jan's english to it too for on the q drive like i've read

so i can get all the updates

I think I know the post you're referring to and if you read closer you'll notice Jan advises NOT to install on Q drive. Just do it exactly the same way you done the other one, doesn't matter what you rename the xbmc builds to - you just need one of them to be called "XBMC" (the one you want to run as default dash). If you don't want to run Jan's one as default I would just rename his folder to "XBMC JAN" or something similar then to test it out reboot the xbox, go to filemanager and navigate to "XBMC JAN" then click on default.xbe and his build will load up. If you like it go back into UnleashX/Evox or whatever dash you used to FTP with and rename to "XBMC" (making sure to rename you other XBMC to something else first).
