Hi everyone!

Im having problems with the USB Flash Units...

I have tested 5 non-label usb flash units, but all of then dont work...

A couple of days later, I found my old "Kingston DataTraveler DTI 1GB USB 2.0"... but this doesnt work neither...


So, I try to buy some of the listed USB Drives on the compatibility list... Finally found a cheap one via eBay, im talking about the
"Sandisk Cruzer Micro U3 [USB2.0] 2048MB Flash (SDCZ6-2048) (tested after removing U3 partition)".


The Sandisk Drive arrived today, so Ii formated the USB, and take off the U3 software, i also fotmated following the steos of the "USBFATXFormatter".....

But when i plugged into the Xbox using a USB Female cord, my Xbox keep saying "Unit isn't functioning, it may be damaged"....

Please help me out... what else can I do, when this 2 USB Flash, are in listed as compatible but are not working.

Grad yourself a SanDisc Cruiser 4GB or lower. They work fine straight out of the packet.

if you run windows run "diskpart" fro CLI and preform the command "clean" on the disk some disks have hidden partitions and this can cause them to not work on the xbox.

I have an apacer one and I had to do that to make it work on the xbox as it had a hidden partition with the device icon and a bunch of self install utilities to hide a partition with a password.

Look i think there is no hidden partition on the disk.

which flash drives have you used I am having problems getting the right one, can anybody point me to a link please?

Use a micro SD card 4GB or less and a cheap USB adapter

Yeah tried that and i get the error - MEMORY UNIT 2A - the memory unit you inserted isnt functioning; it may be damaged.

also when i use a 1gb mem stick the screen starts flickering.

I tried everything I had , there were many with no luck so eventually gave up. and bought a kit with cable hand memory card off eBay , the card they sent was I think a 32 Mb one cheap looking non branded , worked a treat so if you have any really old ones try them . I'm pretty sure I also read someone used an old digital cameras internal memory to get the exploit on .

Is there nothing that can be done on a PC with them to help the Xbox read them ?

I was told the transcend 4GB jetflash should work so ordered one from amazon, will repost to let you know!

It may be how you are formatting. Use win XP for fatxformatter

the only fatx formatter I can find says its for 360/xbox 1 only and it wont read the flash stick
