Streaming problems

Hi everyone - glad to see the xbox is still alive and well !!
I dont have a debug log but just wanted to get a quick opinion on what my problem may be.
I used to have an external hard drive hooked up to my router via usb and i was able to play dvd rips just fine on my xbox.
I then went ahead and bought a NAS (dns-320) which is hooked up to the router via cat 5e cable and now the xbox is buffering every 10-15 minutes or so for a few seconds at a time. Not a deal breaker but is very disruptive nonetheless when trying to watch a show.
I realize the NAS isnt the best in the word but I sure wouldnt have thought that it would perform worse than an external usb drive.
Is there any settings on the xbox that I could change to help resolve this or is it just a problem with my NAS ? I can stream the same files to my laptop without a problem using the same cable.
Let me know if a log would help resolve the problem and I will get one up.
Thanks !!
