you didn't read http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... p?f=6&t=65

that is not a debug log, and please paste it on an external site like xbmclogs.com, not directly into the forum.

you are trying to play back 1280x72-0 h264 video - that is beyond the capabilities of the xbox. If you transcode it with the ffmpeg commandline I gave, that resulting 1280x720 file should play though.

you are also asking for trouble using 1080i as output resolution with a 64mb xbox. it uses too much memory.

Okay i understand. hope to get a 128MB xbox as fast as N64 can XD. i will transcode it. Is it only by h264 transcoded Videofiles? Is there a Compatibility List to show the Files that xbmc can handle? Thank you for your Answer.

There is a very out of date list/chart

http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/wiki/XBMC_F ... esolutions

xbmc4xbox does a little better than this for h264 - I have played back some lower bitrate 800x480 res before, i'd be happy is someone did some testing and updated the wiki - unfortunately I lack the free time currently (I can't do everything on my own ;-) )

It depends on so many factors and attributes relating to encoding schemes, that anything more than general guidance could be misleading. Search the forum for several posts from me giving that general guidance "H.264", H.263" and "MPEG" are the search terms.

Having said that, Buzz's ffmpeg command line provides just about the best quality encoded video an XBOX can reliably handle without freezes or frame drops (MPEG4 ASP as implemented by xvid and divx).

So when I understand it right, apples mp4 does work fine so long as it is in SD?

every video works in 480p (-> that means SD) on xbox...

mp4 is a container (file format) not a video (en)coding scheme.

Typically a .mp4 file will contain H.264 /MPEG4 AVC (x264) encoded video, but it's not a given.

...Another example, a .mkv (Matroska) file will typically contain MPEG4 AVC / H.264 (x264) video, but Buzz's ffmpeg command line puts MPEG4 ASP (xvid) encoded video inside it. And I've seen plenty of other video codings inside Matroska files.

So, if you mean "can the xbox play MPEG4 AVC video at 720x480 (480p) SD?" The answer is, probably - as long as the bitrate isn't incredibly high.

Yep this is what I mean. [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] since I had seen what ffmpeg can do there a many ways to made files for xbox. I must read the man page from that.

I always appreciate when spicemuseum gets involved when it comes to codecs. He knows his stuff . You are in safe hands!
