Are there any scripts or applications available to utilize these paid services? People I've done installs for ask me frequently and through my research I haven't been able to dig anything up.

Any help appreciated.

The short answer is no - both services use DRM protocols to protect their content for obvious reasons so playback is only available through supported platforms.

Hulu used to work, but no longer does apparently because of DRM as Dan said.
