gday guys

is there any way to use xbmc as a jukebox?

i have a heap of music videos loaded on to the hdd and would like to be able play them like a jukebox ie be able to select the songs and they play one after another.

i have the containing folder set in videos but once i start a song there is no way to skip to the next song, and when the song is finished it stops and brings me back to the list and i have to select the next one.

Is there any way of changing this or a addon or plugin i can install

You can make a playlist and it will play the music videos in that list once you trigger it off by selecting one of the music videos in the list.

Or PartyMode or Smart Playlists - they are available from the left menu in Music > Library mode (left side sliding menu).

G'day guys cheers for you feed back but I'm having issues setting up the music videos I have set the folder to music videos and set the scrapers to MTV and tried yahoo one. But it won't allow me to auto import the files to library thru the video section and the music section won't recognise that there is any files in the folder. All of the videos are formatted (band name- song name.avi)

Wiki page, although doesn't provide much (haven't set up one myself) - most of the Music scrapers are unmaintained so there is a chance they might not be working.

I think this calls for a debug log - enable debug and then scan for new content, it will hopefully tell in the debug log what it found and why it didn't like it.

use the latest nightly/beta. there is now a single (but working) music scraper. None of those old scrapers work.

Never had much luck using the music scrapers, now I know why,. Thanks BuZz.

Worth noting that there isn't a working music videos scraper currently. Just music.

hay guys is there a way to stop xbmc from getting stuck on the loading directory screen when you access music videos or music when not connected to the internet

I think you've hit this issue:
"Make default" causes indefinite "Loading directory" dialog when network is not connected

Go to the entry ("Back" or "Up" if it is going directly into it) with the network connected, then press White (context) and choose "Remove default". I think that'll solve your issue when you have the network not connected.

Thanks for your reply dan I have booted the xbox up with it connected to the internet gone to my folder hit white button and these are my options

Iv tried removing source and adding it again with out clearing library but I still get the same issue?

Ok, what exactly does it say on screen, does it look like this, what is the exact message cause based on that maybe we can tell you which is your default source right now - that's the one that need to go to to "remove default".

What if you "added" another source that has content on the HDD itself. I figure that way if the net isn't connected it will still have an active source on board?. Of coarse you won't have your "full" content but better than having nothing.

I have tried adding a new dir setting it as default and removing the source but it still throws the loading directory
