XBMC Splash Screen and iND-BIOS 5003 Issues

I have XBMC4XBOX 3.5 BETA 4.
I am a little stumped on this and can not figure it out for the life of me. I have an Xbox that is TSOP flashed with the iND-BIOS 5003.67 found on the HeXen disc. I edited the ind-bios.cfg to change the blob color, the X logo etc.. I added a logo to the splash.png found on the Q drive (kept the name splash.png). I didnt have an ind-bios.cfg (found on C) before and the splash screen would be as it normally would. After I added the cfg file back to C, the XBMC splash screen would no longer show up on the initial boot but would after a soft reset. I am making this Xbox for a friend of mine and he wants CoinOPS so I have to disable IGR with the iND-BIOS since CoinOPS loves the white+back button combo so a soft reset to see his splash screen isnt happening. Hey, if you want IGR using the beta 5004 I have it running on all my tsoped Xbox's & no issues. (I know on theisozone you said you did on your sisters xbox)
Now the splash issue I had as well, not sure why but it worked the odd time, now to fix it, make the ind-bios load a shortcut first & then the shortcut loads XBMC, this fixed the issue for me. (In my case I use my dualboot for tsops)

Like I said I experienced issues with that BIOS. I think it was because I used Raincoat which I dont have a lot of experience with. I'll try it again sometime but not with an Xbox I am building and selling to someone, I'd rather go with something I know and trust as apposed to something I had issues with. Unless there is a way to add that BIOS to Hexen since I know that process the best.
You'll have to help me with the shortcut making. I havent done one in awhile now and am really rusty at it. I messed around with them but I couldnt get anything to load properly so I went back to using Hexen and AID as my dash install methods.

I use gentoox loader to flash winbond chips & evolutionx to flash the rest. Though gentoox should flash everything, as long as the bios size is correct.
Gentoox you copy the bios to C:\BIOS\Bios.bin & then load it up & navigate to the far right menu, then it straight forward. (you can get it here

Back to the shortcuts.
There are 2 easy ways you can set up shortcuts.
Download Xbox shortcut maker, that's just simply entering the path & name then create the file.
Download my dualboot for tsops source (theisozone) & change the path to what ever you want & click the batch file.
(I use this for game & XBMC, drawer closed my XBMC4Kids loads & drawer open my main XBMC loads. It closes the drawer for you)
Both are easy to make, Xbox shortcut maker being the easiest.
Then just rename the xbe to evoxdash.xbe & place in C:\ or alternatively, place the shortcut anywhere or name it anything & just edit the ind-bios.cfg & point it to the shortcut.

How do you get rid of "Loading IND-BIOS" from displaying? I have several Xboxes that I want to 'silent boot' into XBMC.

Well actually you can. Get rid of the IND-BIOS and use a modded M8 bios or an X2 bios. You can then have nothing displayed at all till XBMC boots if that is what you are after. The screen will be black until XBMC boots the front screen if you also take out the "startup splash". I also found these bioses, especially the M8 bioses much faster to boot. The IND-BIOS is a great idea for "experimenting and testing" to see what you like but once you know what you want, I doubt it ever gets used again. For this reason I say just made your own bios using the modding tools made for these bioses and set it up the way you like.

As Xman says, m8 is very fast booting. I have also found xecuter x2.4981/3 to be equally fast booting. It's my preferred BIOS.

No 128mb support in the M8, if you don't need 128mb ram support the M8 I would go with.
But I do like the features of Ind-Bios, more so the button configs.

You could boot your Xbox with Evox M8+ and load PBL with IND-BIOS. Black screen during boot and IND-BIOS feature once on your dashboard. I guess that could work.
P.S.: Make sure to configure M8 to not check DVD drive for executable.

Can't the ind-bios config be embedded into the bios? I have seen an app solely for that purpose.
No more "loading" screen from ind-bios.

It can be but it is not recommended due to the fact you can brick an Xbox if not done properly.

I have bricked one of my old Tsoped Xboxes injecting the config into the bios & so did another user on theisozone forums.
So now I just live with the ind-bios txt for 2 seconds.
Unfortunately the config injection was in beta & still is since it's discontinued & there is only one way to inject it & that's via the ind-bios config maker app that comes with the bios.
Note: it was the ind-bios 5003 67 version & I flashed the bios to a v1.4 256kb tsop, I won't try on my v1.1 1mb tsop, or any of my other 1.4 & 1.1 Xbox's.
