How to configure FTP in XBMC?

I have XBMC as my default dashboard on my XBOX but when I want to FTP files from the PC to the XBOX I have to switch to the Evox Dashboard as that's the only way it will work.

I've tried configuring the FTP settings in XBMC under system settings\network (purple screen) but it never works. I've enabled FTP server, I've set it to static, use the same IP address\submask\gateway as in Evox. Can somebody explain how to do it so I don't have to keep switching dashboards all the time.

Thanks.

Have you set the username/password. Also I find I get way faster transfer speeds using Evox as apposed to XBMC. (10-11MB/s or 4-5)

Ok, you didn't say what exactly happens when you try to connect and what you're FTP client is saying.
By default XBMC4Xbox I believe uses xbox/xbox if you want to try and log-in with that.

You mentioned "purple screen", that sounds like a custom skin (MC360 maybe?) - you should try switching temporarily to a standard skin that comes with and it's supported by XBMC4Xbox (e.g. Confluence Lite) and go back in Network Settings and make sure everything is configured as you expect it (some skins may have problems saving certain settings). For example, pay a little more attention to the FTP Server area in the screenshot below, especially to the username and password - if "???" try the spinner to switch to "xbox/xbox".

OK, I changed the skin from MC360 to Confluence. I think I know what the problem is now that I've seen those screenshots.
Under the services tab, where it says FTP username it's grayed out with only (1/1) next to it. I cannot change it to anything else.

BTW I'm using XBMC4XBOX 3.0.1. I know I should probably update to the latest release.

It appears from the code that it might read the users from Q:\system\FileZilla Server.xml - there might be something wrong with it's <Users> section.

You could try to rename that to say .old or delete, I believe on restart XBMC4Xbox might create a new file with default contents, or yes, might be a good idea to update to the latest stable available, XBMC4Xbox 3.3.3 - I'd recommend the plugin installer in my signature, make sure you read its wiki page before using it.
