Xbox 160GB - XBMC/Coinops 5r26/Vision 3R8 Free P&P - £60

XBOX BUNDLE

Includes all the following -

Refurbished Black Xbox Console with working DVD Driv6
160GB Hard Drive with Xbox Media Centre
1 x New Controller (type varies)
Power Lead
1 x Component tv lead
90 Day RTB Warranty
Free Delivery (UK ONLY), Europe is normal a flat rate £30 though some places (Russia, Cyprus etc) will cost more.

This system has the latest XBMC (3.3.3)installed as the one and only dashboard and installs of both Coinops 5 r25 and Vision 3 r8.

Please note that as these consoles have not been manufactured for 7 years so these are not new and may have marks on the outer case, though I do try and ensure that these are minor and of course have no effect on the working of the console itself.

Any further questions please message me.

I do not do soft mods, all are either TSOP with IND-BIOS, or in tha case of 1.6's have Aladdins installed.

Can also do 400GB, 500GB and 750GB native IDE hard drive and different cases, HD component leads etc, though obviously these will cost more (ask for a quote)

PM me if interested, I can be vouched for on here, or the Coinops forum.

Cheers
Jinxter

Minor point of order.
Unless you've discovered a novel way of inserting a replacement BIOS, I expect you _do_ do soft-mod, and then flash a replacement BIOS on the TSOP.

I imagine he uses a game save exploit to load evox, or another bios flashing application, without installing the softmod to the hard drive, its very quick and convenient :)

@Spicemuseum WRONG!!!

As ASBO says no need to do a softmode if you have the right equipment and know what you are doing!

... although as I have an IC Oven and hot air blower (which I will from now on call Spicemuseum) I could remove the TSOP, flash and re-solder, but that seems a very long winded way to do it as would soft-modding first be.

Thanks for both your comments though

...which is, of course, a soft-mod. Huzzah!

Novel, certainly.

Far more likely is using a game save exploit to get the box to run unsigned code to blow a replacement BIOS, like the rest of us do it.

Indeed, however to me the act of 'doing' a soft-mod is installing it on the hard drive.
I imagine which word describes what is personal preference, unless there's an 'official' list of definitions somewhere? :)

@ASBO ... certainly sounds like some-one back peddling at a furious rate to try and prove they know more than they actually do, don't you think.

Spicemuseum, a simply "Sorry I do not know the difference" would probably have been the best way out, then you could have kept a modicum of self respect intact instead of desperately trying to show how much you know, when you obviously don't!

For the sake of clarity -

Soft-Mode includes a bios being loaded into Ram via way of an overflow exploit.

Hard mode is replacement of the on board bios by flashing or LPC pins with replacement bios via a chip of your choice.

Game exploits are a way of running unsigned code via a game save that can be made to purpose written code instead of load game save data.

I use the Game exploit to flash the TSOP directly by running a version of raincoat and telnet'ing instructions from a pc, I hope that clarifies the process for you and clears up your misunderstanding, and hopefully educates you a little.

Anyway the machines are all hardmodded, and none have a soft-mod dashboard so cannot be accidentally bricked.

even if you call the first step soft modding (which it isn't imho), the machine is TSOP which is a hard mod. it's not loading a new bios via a software exploit on boot anymore.

Yep. Clear my interpretation isn't accepted.

Nah. Looks like my point of order is now debated, outcome = rejected.

Steady on. No reason to ask Asbo to take sides, or be abusive in our friendly forum.

Yep, thanks.

I hope you sell your boxes. Lots of them.

Not suggested or debated. This is agreed, indisputable fact.

Very easy definition of modding.
Softmod- Taking the soft, easy option.
Hardmod- Says it all. Hard and skill required option.

Just stirring you guys up. :D

LoL :-)

Perhaps I'd have more luck quibbling with the usage of the term TSOP, which, as everyone knows, is not a mod but the form factor of the package containing the flash memory used for the BIOS.
Maybe I'll save that for another time.

rather than "bumping" it might be better to say "this is still available" - but to be honest I don't think it needs a bump in this case. there are only a few posts above. If everyone in the marketplace starts bumping their thread it is going to be a mess.
